We went to Ambarawa Railway Museum, and had a ride on a Thomas the Tank Engine type little steam train, in 3rd-class carriages built in 1911. We chugged through paddy fields, surrounded by clouds of dragonflies, past cloud-wrapped volcanoes.
The Bean & Leaf Café stands on the corner of Rochester Road and Walton Blvd., at the home of a former Starbucks coffee shop. The new occupant welcomes visitors away from the chain store feel and into a relaxing atmosphere for java — served in a biodegradable Eco-Cup — or a snack. Specialty menu items have drawn locals into this growing downtown hotspot.

Traditional Javanese mosque -- they come large and small, from the size of a house on up. The Middle Eastern style with a dome is a more recent development.
This is a baby Java Fern growing on the tip of its mother's leaf. They reproduce via this method and by sending off runners from the base of the plant. This baby was cut off right after this pic was taken, and planted elsewhere in the tank.
