A.W. Cardinal was for most of the performance hidden in the dark. He gave the limelight to his partner Jass. Even his name A.W. is a bit of mystery. Southside Shuffle blues festival reserved the best for the last; at least it was for me the 'Blue Moon Marquee'. Normally it's a duo Jasmine Colette and A.W. Cardinal, but they added an excellent keyboard player. Both write songs, both have great voices and are excellent musicians. Rather then being just another blues band their music had depth and originality. The Albertans travel the world now for several years. Cardinal raspy voice is very distinctive. Playing together for 10 years, there is nothing stale in their performance. Alexander Wesley and Jasmine are now on my radar.

Cypripedium calceolus (Gelber Frauenschuh, Lady Slipper) Jassing, Steiermark, Austria. A saw several groups of these lovely orchids. However, most of them were still "a sleep". Hence, they are in bloom more than a week later than last year.
Au coeur de la Réserve Nationale de Faune d'Orlu, se trouve la Jasse d'en Gaudu , à entrée les hauts rochers sont souvent occupés par une ou plusieurs Marmottes qui ont un rôle de sentinelle en avertissant, par des sifflements puissants, d'un danger toutes les autres Marmottes.
J'ai réalisé une vidéo qui montre cette Jasse avec les habitants du lieu : Marmottes, Isards, Bovins en estive.

Au cœur de la Réserve Nationale d'Orlu, se situe la Jasse d'en Gaudu, une vaste prairie entourée de sommets.
On peut y observer de nombreuses Marmottes qui y vivent.
Le décors naturel est sublime.
Ici, on peut deviner en arrière-plan, la rivière Oriège qui abrite le Desman des Pyrénées, appelé aussi Rat trompette, il est très rare à observer. On peut aussi observer le magnifique Cincle plongeur.

On my last visit to my hometown Schuders in the Swiss Alps I went to the Berggasthof Alte Post, the only restaurant in town. People visiting the village were playing Jass (pronounced ˈjas), the Swiss national card game. Many people in the Swiss German speaking part play this game. The game is so widespread that it is regularly featured on radio and television, such as the weekly TV programs of Donnschtig Jass ("Thursday Jass") and Samschtig Jass ("Saturday Jass") on the Swiss national TV. Card games never attracted me personally, I don't even know the rules.
I processed a balanced and a photographic HDR photo from a RAW exposure, blended them selectively, carefully adjusted the color balance and curves, and desaturated the image. I welcome and appreciate constructive comments.

The following blog text describes a TV-show I attended on the 6. July 2017 in #Weesen, #Switzerland. For all non-German speaking people: You are safe and have a beer.
Es gibt Dinge, die ich nie von meiner Schwester nie erwarten würde. Dazu gehört ihre Verlobung oder die Einladung zum #DonnschtigJass, der im Nachbardorf stattfindet. Doch gerade Zweiteres ist geschehen. So kam es, dass ich mit meiner Schwester, meiner Mutter und einem Kumpel an einer sozial akzeptierten, aber gezwungen modernen „Spiel-Show“ im Publikum sass. #Jass – das nationale Bünzlispiel, dass ich hauptsächlich aus verrauchten Schmudelbeizen aus der Kindheit oder als Teenager von einer Jass-besessenen Familie der Ex-Freundin kannte. Verbissen hielten sie an ihrer Jass-Jahresstatistik fest.
Bei Dunnschtig-Jass tritt das wahre Spiel aber in den Hintergrund und eigentlich ist es nur eine gekonnte Verknüpfung von Lokalpatriotismus und Promimagazin. Hinterpfuffigen vs irgendein Kaff im Wallis kombiniert mit Schlagersängern und C-Promis. Das Schweizerfernsehen ist sich dessen bewusst und weiss genau wie kleiner das Dorf desto mehr peinliche Schellen nehmen die Leute aus ihrem Kuhställen mit. Ich verstehe zwar die Faszination für das Spiel nicht, aber es geht nichts über Schweizerischer Traditionen und Chüeligürtel. Also nichts wie hin.
Nachdem ich meine Mutter überredet habe (sie wollte kurz ihrem Stolz bewahren und hat erst 3x abgelehnt), sind wir im kitschigen Sonnenschein angekommen. Die Festbänke aus der Landi waren grösstenteils bereits besetzt. Das ist wohl das erste Mal das man das Mitglied des lokalen Jassvereins einen Vorteil hatte und auf einen reservierten Platz sitzen konnte. Mit breiter Brust wurden die Plätze dann auch gegen Auswärtige verteidigt.
Nach strategischer Überlegung haben wir dann einen optimalen Tisch direkt am See gefunden. Nach einem 1-stündigen Warmup von einem fast nicht auszuhaltenden St.Galler ging es dann auch zügig los.
Das klassische TV-Konzept hat sich bewährt und die stündige Show lässt sich so zusammenfassen:
- Monolog Moderator mit Lobhymne auf Kaff
- Spielrunde 1 mit Small-Talk über langweilige Hobbys von Spielern. Irgendeinen Blödsinn sammeln die immer.
- Gast 1, der neue Herausforderungen im Leben sucht und symbolisch per Wasserski über eine Schanze springt, nur weil er bis jetzt Skisport moderiert hat. Der Ausschnitt wurde natürlich schon vorher aufgezeichnet und wie sich rausstellt schon vor geraumer Zeit, denn die Schanze im See ist seit Monaten abgebaut worden. Der Clip hätte man auch so bei einem Trash-Youtuber als Challenge-Video hochladen können.
- Spielrunde 2 bei der ein 9-jähriger mitspielt, da die anderen im Wallis wohl gerade gesagt haben: "Bei so neumödischen Zeug machen wir nicht mit"
- Gast 2 singt einen Schlager bei dem im Warm-up die Schaukelrichtung des Publikums eingeübt wurde (vorwärts-rückwärts-links-und-rechts). Grobmotoriker haben sich freiwillig in den Hintergrund gesetzt oder werden direkt vom Redakteur ausgeblendet.
- Spielrunde 3. Jetzt sind es plötzlich reduzierte Pokerkarten.
- Productplacement von einer lokalen Fischbeiz, bei der Fisch nicht aus dem lokalen See sondern aus dem Ausland kommt.
- Sketsch mit Kühen. Wir sind ja schliesslich in der Schweiz.
- Unpolitischer Abschlussmonolog.
- Der erste Gast will jetzt doch auch noch singen. Die After-Life-Crisis ist wohl doch recht gravierend.
Bratwürste für alle und fertig.
Wir haben unsere Challenge erfüllt und jedes Mal übertrieben mit Bier angestossen, wenn die Kamera auf uns geschwenkt hat. Schliesslich gehört ein wenig Sozialkritik auch dazu.
Und so läuft das nun den ganzen Sommer über.
*DISCLAIMER: Die erwähnten Personen beim Dunnschtig-Jass müssen selbst ergoogelt werden. Und für alle, die nur Bahnhof verstanden haben: Donnschtig-Jass ist so konservativ, dass ihr es beim Schweizer Einbürgungstest auf die Frage: „Was ist typisch Schweizerisch?“, angeben solltet.
Cette Marmotte était en sentinelle à l'entrée de la Jasse d'en Gaudu, où se situe la prairie aux Marmottes dans la réserve nationale de la faune et la flore d'Orlu dans les Pyrénées ariégeoises.
On peut voir qu'elle a fait ses réserves de graisse pour pouvoir passer l'hiver en hibernation durant environ cinq mois.
Les conditions météo difficiles, très couvert avec de la pluie par intermittence, ont permit de tester le boîtier avec des iso à 6400.
