Yes I know I can't seem to keep away from this place. It's definitely not the silence here as the are about a hundred Cockatoos squarking and carrying on.

Have I said how much I love this 5D? :)

This image was created with nine -2 to +2 images shot with a 50mm prime stitched together with Photoshop and touched up with Aperture 3.0, one must improvise when a wide angle lens is not available.....

Sorry been busy and seeing nothing that inspires me, so I thought I would go back to my comfort pond and do a horizontal panorama. Please excuse the grass movements.....

Another day, another 5am rise to catch the morning glow. Not as sharp as I would like it but the colours make up for it. Hope you all have a great weekend.

Would you belive that I went out with my 200mm prime lens to shoot some birds and got zilch. As I was leaving the pond I was blinded by the sun setting and caught a glimpse of the above silhouttes. The bonus in this shot was the bokeh that came with it.

Been busy with configuring my new i5 MacBook Pro, had a few issues with startup apps crashing the Kernel after migrating from the old Mac, all is well and I hope to catch up soon.

I took this one a couple of weeks ago and thought I would give it a little angle as inspired by one of my contact Reece.

I picked up a Vivitar 20mm f/3.8 M42 lens today at a camera flea market, I am quite fond of the old Pentax mount lenses. I hope you all have had a great weekend.

Just for a bit of confusion I thought I would rotate this 90 degrees. Nope had to put it back to normal, it was doing my head in :(

Today I braved the early rise and fresh crisp air to catch a sunrise, something I haven't done for a while because of laziness.

There has been no manipulation to this image except for the Apertures conversion to jpeg on export.

I am not a huge fan of Zoo's, wild animals should be just that, left in the wild. This beautiful creature is currently living at Marwell Zoo. Amongst their big cats they have a positive breeding program in place and have successfully sent cubs to other zoos/parks. Hopefully we will start to see their offspring being put back where they belong.

I love how close to things you can get with this Vivitar 20mm f/3.8 lens.

As the description says, this time shot with my sub par EF-S 18-55mm kit lens :(

I went hunting some pink clouds, to my disappointment they didn't show.

I wonder if waiting for coloured clouds is like the saying about watching boiling water?

Tonight I ventured up to my favorite pond, this time to capture wildlife, there seems to be a large flock of Cockatoos in this area and what a noise they like to make, I managed to snap this shot as they flew overhead, I must have been arching backwards at about 45 degrees to get it. I had to use the Speedlite 430 EXII to add enough fill light for them to show up.

I was determined to get a shot of the clouds at dusk before the end of the year, I always seem to just miss out. I got home early from walking the Kodmeister, put him in the backyard, jumped the fence and on to the reserve to get this photo.

I'm lucky that this is basically my backyard.

The building in the distance is the Department of Finance in Canberra, during lunch this place is a hive of activity in the warmer months, generally to the left in front and behind are various groups of people playing touch football, soccer and occasionally cricket.

To the right is the Aboriginal Tent Embassy, Old Parliament House and various rose gardens. I might take this exact shot facing the other way during the week.

I thought this Wild Iris looked like it was in flight so I took 3 different exposures and created a HDR.

I have been busy over the weekend, I look forward to catching up.

You have to love the way Koalas sleep, they seem to squish themselves into a fork of a tree, this can't be comfortable but it doesn't seem to bother them.

This is a simple silhouette of a bird in flight, I was drawn to it by the blues in the sky.

Please don't ask me what it is I'll leave it up to you in the comments. It was cold and I didn't have a chance to find out any information. What I can tell you is it is similar to a rock has holes and emits light and music.
