Comment: "The somewhat esoteric show is kinky, intelligent and chock-full of the latest art world darlings. I especially loved Jala Wahid's work." - JayZee

When oil was discovered in baba gurgur between the disputed region of federal Iraq and Kurdistan, British forces took over Mesopotamia they signed a treaty with federal Iraq that ended up wiping out Kurdistan from the maps, the treaty itself and from Kurdish claiming their land back. Jala’s father was exiled and Jala could not visit her homeland until the invasion of Iraq from British forces ended. The sculpture itself represents a flower that grows in the oil region but it’s sadly ignored instead they focus on the oil and the wealth they can see in that. So Jala designed a sculpture of the beautiful flower to give it some wealth to finally be noticed. The sculpture is a memorial piece to represent the dark days of the effects the oil had on their homeland.
