This wasn’t Hawaiian Jake Shimabukuro’s first visit to the Byron Bay Bluesfest, but it was the first time I’d seen the boundary-crossing ukulele virtuoso. I have seen some of his re-worked classics on Youtube. His instrumental compilation including Leonard Cohen’s ‘Hallelujah’ and Franz Schubert’s ‘Ave Maria’ had me in tears.

This is Jake's first Christmas with us. He was about 2 months old in this picture and he's giving his Daddy some kisses.
Another 52 weeks out-take. I love how Jake will cross his long paws. Had a hard time choosing which photo to go with this week. I liked this one also. Not happy with the compositional qualities originally, so I just cropped this one in picnic. For 52 Weeks I went with the photo I choose (in first comment below, along with other out-takes) because I was able to get Jake's eyes better and to get some catch lights in his eyes. But I do love his paws here. In fact, I wish I had entered this in the 12 months challenge- of part of my dog that is a piece of my heart-- as Jake's big paws are one of many favorite parts of him I love. But I don't think I can undo my prior entry- will have to check and see.
