I located this Long Tailed Jaeger on this nice Tundra mound in Nome Alaska! I believe it was going to be nesting in the area !

Statue of a Jaeger, a soldier that got his military training in Germany during the first world war. They were volunteers that went there to get military training so they could return and liberate Finland from Russia. When they came back, Finland was in the middle of a civil war and they joined the so called "white side" of the conflict. The "whites" eventually won. The statue can be found in Hovioikeuden puisto park in Vaasa.
Sorry Jaeger but this photo is about my new Canon S90 and not about you! This photo was taken at ISO 3200 at 85mm equivalent. This is taken straight from the camera with no post processing! I am just amazed at the quality from this great little point & shoot. Go ahead and pixel peep...but when you do remember this is ISO 3200!
After showing up at PetSmart last week without a camera and having to use my iPhone to get a photo of Sarie with Santa I knew I had to have a good SMALL camera with me all the time because as the saying goes "The best camera is the one that is with you!" I am a bit of a sucker for Jaegar and I'm always pleased when I can pick something up in my charity shop and this hanging very nicely red skirt is no exception.This is another not so recent photo and dates from 2019.
Stolt Jaeger visited Carrington, going up on the evening of 12 May. It returned down the following morning, when it is seen at Thelwall Ferry. Formerly the Multitank Bracaria.

For those interested here is a record shot of the pomarine jaeger that showed up yesterday at the Elks Club. It seemed very unwell and was found dead this morning.
