Jacob's Ladder is one of the most iconic alpine roads in Australia. In icy wintery conditions it is almost impassable. But it sure is fun to drive up and down.

As written on the plaque at this site:
Jacob
The Circle Dray Horse
The famous Courage dray horses were stabled on this site from the early 19th century and delivered beer around London from the brewery in Horselydown Lane by Tower Bridge.
In the 16th century the area became known as Horselydown which derives from ‘Horse-lie-down’, a description of working horses resting before crossing London bridge into the City of London.
Jacob was commissioned by Jacob’s Island Company and Farlane properties as the centrepiece of The Circle to commemorate the history of the site. He was flown over London by helicopter into Queen Elizabeth Street to launch The Circle in October 1987.

Jacob Lake Inn is in far northern Arizona. Next year they will celebrate their 100 anniversary. It is a wonderful place. Owned and operated for 100 years, by a great family.

The snow waited for me. I bit off more than I could chew this morning. I didn't get up top until an hour after sunrise. Luckily, my difficult route up gave me a good view of the pre-dawn colour.
The sheep and lambs at Llandanwg.
They walked to us by the field gate and stopped and stayed there looking at us for about fifteen minutes, whilst we filmed them and took several photographs.
The horned older ones came really close and were very gentle in their disposition.
A lovely few minutes watching them enjoy the early evening, and watching the lambs run out and jumping over walls and other farm machinery.
Jacob, next door's cat, sitting on my balcony and watching the world go by. I came up behind him and took photo through the window glass.
A cropped version of yesterday's photo. I prefer this one as it easy to see the detail and colours in his eye.
Hello friends,
Something new from me. I was hesitant about posting this as this my first attempt at this type of photography and edit. But when I saw the back of my camera after taking it I knew I had to try. I should get better at these types of pictures since I never seem to sleep at night anyway. First time for everything!
I was listening to Stairway to Heaven when I started the process of posting this and had it titled as such. But the more I thought about it the more cliche it sounded. It does remind me of something similar to that though. Perhaps some of you will catch the reference to the title :) Even though it is imperfect in a million times I think the only way to see growth is by posting pictures along the way. It's astonishing to look back and see how we grow. I do that often with people here I follow. Some of you have been with me since the very beginning in my very humble efforts. Flickr will always be my first love when it comes to community. I have never experienced the same type of encouragement anywhere else that I experience here. Thank you for being with me on this journey, for growing with me and never failing to inspire me.
Love always,
Rachel

8.10pm. A late evening visit by Jacob. The bears are keeping a close eye on him. It wasn't posed or set up. I have had those garden ornaments for years. Jacob just sat next to them
The Jacob Haidi Bridge that spans the Bedford Channel was built in 1931 -1932 because if a donation of $15,000 by local resident Jacob Haitdi. The bridge runs from the village of Fort Langley to McMillan Island and was a link to the ferry that later ran from McMillan Island to Maple Ridge (Albion) across the Fraser River. Photo taken from Brae Island Regional Park on McMillan Island, B.C.
I admit to not knowing the most about sheep and I initially thought this was a goat! Further research showed he was a Jacob Sheep. (which would be why I couldn't find it while researching for a spotted goat with 4 horns! ha!) Then I remembered that the critter was going Baaaa. Baaaa.... seriously. D'oh!
We saw this Fluffy Fellow at a local Mennonite store where they also have a petting zoo with lots of different types of farm animals. The Granddaughter really enjoyed this adventure and tried to pet them all! :)
A Jacob sheep with the common traits of a spotted fleece, black and white face, and four characteristic black and white and four curving horns, seen on a local farm.

Jacobs Tent
This image was created from a photograph of a tulip. It reminds me of a tent. The four strings symbolize Jacob's wives, Rachel and Leah and his two concubines. The angles in the picture show the dynamics of the family, the color shows their love and co-existence.
This image is a part of the 'Botanical Beauty' exhibition in Jerusalem.
