No HDR, no DRI, but still some processing: On the original shot, the sky was only 1/4 of what you see now. This is because I wanted to capture the maximum of the dune. But for the final composition, I wanted to make a square format with half sky/half dune, so what I did is 'expand' the sky using Photoshop's transform/scale tool.
Then applied a blue gradient on the sky, a curve with a layer mask to add some variation of luminosity on the dune.
And finally, I 'cloned out' lots of little debris here and there on the sand.
Sunset, Natural Bridges State Beach, Santa Cruz California. There is something to be said about the holidays and sunsets at this beach. Just like last year at the same time, the sky opened up as the sun passed just beyond the horizon, and the show lasted for what felt like hours. Happy Holidays!

"There are faces that, over time, take the shape of their souls, their readings, landscapes and people they know. They have deep and subtle signs, lights and shadows that speak of an intense interiority, of questions asked and answers received, of harmony and restlessness. Sonja was that face. "

"If you look at me I exist" is a novel full of poetry that, sentence after sentence, reminds us of the importance of empathy and the care of what surrounds us. In short, it reminds us of the importance of love.
