KidKoo is a communication app that’s assigned to kids by their school counselor or school therapist. Students identified as being at-risk due to behavioral changes (anxiety/depression, absenteeism; etc.) at home or at school would have scheduled and non-scheduled check-ins with their therapist during and after school. At this stage, the app allows the child to write into 6 input fields, each input field represented by a different emotion, Happy, Proud, Disappointed, Worried, Sad and Angry. The posts go directly to the counselor, who can review the posts and based on the information provided by the child, can better prepare for meetings with the child and research and implement resources if needed. If the child were to use any red-flag words in the post, such as hate or hurt, those words would be highlighted for the counselor. Designed and Programmed using: JavaScript, JQuery, HTML5, CSS3, Node.js, JSON, Bootstrap, Bash, Adobe Illustrator, Git (2016)
For Michael Carney’s Divvy bike-share stations + Census tract + unbanked Chicagoans analysis and map he needed the Divvy station locations as a shapefile. I copied the JSON-formatted text of the Divvy real-time station API, converted it to CSV with OpenRefine, and then created a shapefile with QGIS.

In commemoration of International Overdose Awareness Day, members of atTAcK addiction held a vigil in Newark on Aug. 31, talking with UD students about how to stay safe. They reminded students that if they are present when an overdose occurs, they can 911 without fear. Under Delaware’s 911 Good Samaritan Law, signed into law in 2013, the caller or the person in distress cannot be arrested for low-level drug crimes.
In 2021, 515 people died from overdoses in Delaware, and the total deaths from suspected overdoses through the end of August of this year are about 11% higher than at the same time last year.

El Virreinato de Nueva España fue una entidad territorial, integrante del Imperio español en América. Fue creado tras la conquista de los pueblos indÃgenas que ocupaban el territorio correspondiente de Meso- y Norteamérica El Virreinato de Nueva España fue establecido oficialmente el 8 de marzo de 1535. Su primer virrey fue Antonio de Mendoza y Pacheco y la capital del virreinato fue la Ciudad de México establecida sobre la antigua Tenochtitlán. La organización del territorio se originó a partir de las encomiendas, que eran otorgadas preferentemente a aquellos conquistadores que participaron en la conquista de México, y por ello los encomenderos tenÃan el poder absoluto y se encargaban de organizar el trabajo de sus habitantes en sus respectivas demarcaciones.

Úbeda is not known by its graffiti the way Granada is, but in this trip, and curiously enough not before, I have discovered a budding graffiti scene that, for the time being, consist of many tags and a few throw-ups like this one. There are also some pieces, but not too many. Maybe in 20 years time we'll find somebody with the talent of El Niño de Las PInturas. But then, maybe not.
