The All American Park in Quincy, Illinois provides this beautiful view of the Bay Bridge (on the left) and the Quincy Memorial Bridge (Highway 24, on the right). Large barges headed up the Mississippi River frequently pass beneath the bridges.
Quincy is a beautiful river city. According to Wikipedia, "In the fall of 2010, [it] was listed as eighth in the top fifteen small cities to raise a family in the United States by Forbes magazine for its commute times, high school graduation rate, median household income, home ownership rate and cost of living. Forbes compared 126 cities with a population under 100,000 and ranked them on these five quality-of-life measures."
I also found this to be of interest, "During the winter of 1838-1839, five thousand members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, the Mormons, on their way west, were driven from their homes in Missouri and arrived in Quincy. Though vastly outnumbered by the new arrivals, the residents of Quincy provided them food and shelter. Joseph Smith then led his followers 40 miles (64 km) up river to Nauvoo, Illinois. The kindness extended by the people of Quincy continues to be remembered by Mormons. In 2002, the Mormon Tabernacle Choir gave a benefit concert in Quincy, with the proceeds donated to the city as an expression of gratitude."

Joseph Joubert was a French moralist and essayist, remembered today largely for his Pensées (Thoughts), which was published posthumously.
From the age of fourteen Joubert attended a religious college in Toulouse, where he later taught until 1776. In 1778 he went to Paris where he met D'Alembert and Diderot, amongst others, and later became a friend of a young writer and diplomat, Chateaubriand.

The sun sets over the turbulent waters of St Joseph Lighthouse in Michigan. I was pretty happy to have gone out this evening, as the skies were almost completely clear by me when I left. But I gambled and drove out there hoping that Lake Michigan would drum up some nice clouds for a sunset. I was definitely not disappointed as the skies turned a fiery red after the sun sank below the horizon.
Everybody is concerned about Sneaky, as you can see the guys take always good care of him and try to keep him warm whenever they can. He has been sick since we brought him from the Foster Home ( 2 years ago, his previous name was zombie ), he has difficulty keeping himself warm, has some immune illness ( we checked already for feline aids but he tested negative ), very very bad chronic gingivitis and the only thing the vets suggested is to pull out all his teeth. But I mean besides him being cold, he does eat and drink and is happy a couple of hours in the evening when it's quiet in the House. So why put him through such a major operation and suffering. Poor guy....really don't know what would be better for him!? Tried already all sorts of remedies but nothing really worked. The Vet said that basically every animal has a certain amount of bacteria in their mouth, well sneaky has 100times that and it's attacking his own gums.
But where are the clowns?

One of my favorite houses in St. Joseph, MO. I've shot this house before on an incredibly hot day under poor light conditions and always wanted to come back. So I was happy to be able to get there right at sunset as the snow was really starting to come down.
The light being on at the door helped improve the scene too.
