If it was up to me, there wouldn't be no such thing as the establishment.

When the power of love overcomes the love of power the world will know peace.

"Purple Haze" March 17, 1967

Purple Haze all in my brain

Lately things just don't seem the same

Actin' funny but I don't know why

'Scuse me while I kiss the sky

Purple Haze all around

Don't know if I'm coming up or down

Am I happy or in misery?

Whatever it is, that girl put a spell on me

This mural of Jimi Hendrix is a quite faithful copy of a very well known poster designed by to help advertise Hendrix's 1969 tour of Germany and was created by a very talented artist, Gunther Keiser. The mural was painted by local artist Kyle Holdridge in 2023. A bit more info that I gleaned from the www is below.

In the Uptown area Minneapolis, Minneasote, a vibrant, colorful mural of legendary musician Jimi Hendrix stands tall and proud, capturing the essence of his musical spirit. Measuring 40 feet wide and 17 feet tall, this stunning piece of art was painted by artist Kyle Holdridge in just three days, using nothing but spray guns. The mural, which is located on the side of the Corner Store Vintage on the corner of Lake Street and Bryant Avenue, is a stunning tribute to the iconic musician who changed the course of music history. Hendrix, known for his electrifying performances and innovative guitar playing, was a true trailblazer in the music industry, and his influence can still be felt to this day.

German artist Gunther Kieser was one of the top designers of rock concert posters in the 1960s. Besides Hendrix, Kieser also designed memorable posters for the Grateful Dead, The Doors, Miles Davis, Traffic, Fleetwood Mac and The Who. He also did several album covers for the BlueNote jazz record label.

Gunther Kieser created this masterpiece for a January 19, 1969 performance in Stuttgart, Germany. The original poster carries the correct concert date of January 19, 1969 at the lower left, while the merchandise posters carry an incorrect date of January 15 (Hendrix was in Berlin that day). Due to the tremendous popularity of this image, it has been printed at least four times and bootlegged several more.

This trendy [adorsy] Jimi Set has me quite giddy with its fun and many-pocketed cargo pants and leather jacket alike.

If you are somewhat hesitant to wear clothing that exaggerates your shape, you can still get in on the cargo pants trend. This Jimi Set with its open style jacket with exposed shoulders and halter top shirt creates a long, lean silhouette which balances out the visual heaviness of these cargo pants for a great look and vibe.

Its buy all fatpack sets fit LaraX (+Lara PetiteX), Legacy, and Reborn (+Waifu) mesh bodies. The mega color HUDs boasts 65 colors for the Pants ( + 45 additional in Denim), 65 for the Top, 45 for the Leather Jacket, and 45 for the Shoes.

Created for the "Shock of the New" Group's challenge, "Urban Blue".

I wanted to create a simpler and more visceral image having mood over concept with this piece. Wet streets at night in big cities catching and reflecting the many sources and colours of light have always had an intoxicating effect on me.

2 Old shots from 2010, when I first started photography. Layered, repeated with inner glow added and drawn over with line and text. Image compiled May, 2017.

No matter how old I get, or the song, in these environments Jimi Hendrix's "The Wind Cries Mary" never fails to play in my head. With that firmly in mind, I've taken a line from "The Wind Cries Mary" and included it in the image and selected part of it from the flow of words to title the image. I hope I do "The Wind Cries... " some justice with this. There isn't another song by the late genius that affects me more deeply.

Due to the Hendrix family's extreme copyright and performance restrictions on the late artist's material you cannot find the original version on You Tube to watch or listen to. Some bad bootleg videos are there and 5,000 covers by just about everyone from pro's to bedroom guitarists. Other sources exist for this incredible song but you'll have to pay for it.

As an alternative music track, I've chosen a gorgeous piece by avant garde trumpeter/composer, Jon Hassell. "Amsterdam Blue" from the "Million Dollar Hotel" soundtrack.

Ein Idol einer ganzen Generation. Unvergessen für alle Zeit !

First time on the balcony after all the snow melted. Without my knowledge he decided to climb up the chair and sit in the rain. I have to watch because he jumps on tables and he is a dare devil
