Stacked ice flow at Eklutna Lake. I went to take this photo after seeing other photos taken by people on Facebook. I tried to put my own touch on it.
Sorry I have been so quiet on here over the past few days. Just been busy with taking pics and family life...
I had a wonderful days photography in Northumberland on Friday. Its an area of coastline I've always loved and don't visit enough at just a 1h 45min drive to most locations. I was there for sunrise so up at 4am... but when I got to my first location the Jigsaw Rocks at Low Newton I realised I had an issue! It was a really really high tide and the jigsaw rocks which are best shot as the tide retreats were not going to work as sunrise would be gone by the time the sea revealed them and id have no foreground. So I dashed round the 15 min drive to my next location and as I was driving the light started kicking off. So I got a sunrise location but it was a bit of a compromise as I never had time to get along to the death rocks... Anyway none of this really matters in regard to this shot which was my last of the day at sunset at another set of Jigsaw rocks at Cocklawburn Beach just South of Berwick!
Ive spent the weekend with my family and getting the back garden prepped for the winter... the last grass cut, dig over the grow your own area, empty out the three bird boxes that where occupied this spring, put the garden furniture under the big cover, tidy the shed... And all in 20 deg heat! What is going on... Its nearly October and there are hardly any signs of Autumn at all! Global weather is defo changing... what have we done?!

Mask: Jigsaw Mask by RAWR! (at Outre Event )
My last composition from a day of photography down in Northumberland. As the tide went out it revealed the Jigsaw Rocks and some nice pastel colours lingered in the sky!
BENNY:
This is a difficult jigsaw puzzle.
It's midnight now....
But I'm a go-getter if I do say so myself.
Macro Monday Theme " Connection "
The success of the puzzle is the connection of all the pieces to complete the jigsaw. The subject of the puzzle are Sudoku squares, which can also be solved, with a felt pen and wiped clean afterwards.
There's quite a bit of fallen oak leaves on the trail after autumn rain and wind.
Seaforth Beach trail near Jordan Lake, North Carolina, USA
I used to find jigsaws so difficult to complete before someone suggested that I turn the pieces over and use the picture on the other side!
For the Crazy Tuesday theme of ‘Different sizes’.
A tighter crop of a shot i posted earlier this week ...really liked the way the central rocks have molded together over time
Have a wonderfully Sunday everyone
The seaweed made this 2,000 piece jigsaw very challenging!!
It would only just fit on my dining table. When I completed it
I felt I had really achieved, after spending days on it. :-))
Anais Nin said “Throw your dreams into space like a kite, and you do not know what it will bring back”. I’d rather send my dreams to you so you can mix them with your own and between us we will fit them together. A jigsaw of our life.
I was invited to submit an image to the 12.12 Photography Project as a guest artist. The theme for July was Negative Space. Thank you guys for inviting me. I’m also dedicating this to its founder, Penny Felts who sadly passed away recently. You were a star Penny and you will be missed.
Hand-designed wooden puzzle with themed whimsy pieces that match the image of the puzzle. Can you find the rudder or the anchor? There are many other shapes to discover...

Part of today’s jigsaw. I do online jigsaws now, as “real” ones take up too much space & are very tempting to a playful cat!
Completed this afternoon. I really enjoyed doing this one despite the fact it was a reasonably difficult one - another that had letters on the back of each piece.
