Jessica Scherr, age 22, swam in La Jolla Cove Swim Club’s Pier to Cove Swim held Saturday, June 25, 2016. The 1.5-mile (2.5 kilometers) swim started on the north side of Scripps Pier and finished at La Jolla Cove. Scherr of San Diego, CA, wore bib 419 and swam in the Swim Regulation event, Female 18-24 division. Scherr completed the swim in 01:11:02 (hh🇲🇲ss) with a split time of 02:41/100 yd (mm:ss/100 yd).
Athletes were ranked by division, event, sex and overall. Jessica Scherr’s rankings were as follows:
In the Female 18-24 division, Jessica ranked last out of eight female swimmers.
In the Swim Regulation event, Jessica ranked 138th out of 142 participants.
Jessica placed 101st amid 105 female athletes.
Jessica Scherr finished 231st amongst a total of 238 swimmers in all categories.
Swimmers were divided into three categories: swim regulation, swim non-regulation and swim police/fire. Regulation swimmers swam according to United States Masters Swimming (USMS) rules that allow neoprene swim caps but ban rash guards. Non-regulation swimmers can use rash guards, wetsuits, fins, masks and snorkels but not scooters or sails.
Large waves and seaweed at La Jolla Cove made for a challenging Pier to Cove Swim but sunny, warm weather awaited the swimmers at the end along with their event T-shirt and hot food from Duke’s Restaurant.
San Diego Lifeguards provided support including a boat, jet ski and paddleboards.

I was taking part in one of Francesco Rizzato's photography workshops. That was 2 hours of theory and more than three hours of shooting. It was pretty easy to take decent pictures, because Francesco had set up the lights and Jessica is a posing wonder. Actually, it was a bit like Nicolae Ceaușescu's bear hunting... I just had to push the button.

Jessica and I haven't shot pictures together in over a year! She just contacted me last week wanting to go out to take some new pictures and catch up! She told me about this place called "the grotto" in Sudbury. I've never heard of the location in my whole life! When we got there I was in shock. It looks beautiful and it's located in the middle of a run down area of town! We shot a ton of pictures and I love how they turned out!
