I'm off to the motherland for a few weeks...I will miss flickr for sure. I will have very spotty internet at best, but hope to return with a plethora of pictures :).

One of my flickr contacts on here is a talented writer, and I stalk read her blog religiously. This post from Tuesday got me thinking, and I wanted to create my own Love List. I tend to go through phases where I feel like all I do is complain, or focus on what's wrong, instead of what's right.
So.
I love the first cool mornings in early fall, when you can tell the air is changing, but it’s not bitter cold yet. I love the distant smell of a fireplace burning in someone’s home. I love rolling down the windows on the way to the beach from the city, and catching the first smells of that salty beach air, and seeing the sand on the sides of the highway. I love getting home after a long day of work, and finding a package waiting for me inside my front door. I love finding new music, and listening to the same song over and over again, until I have the words memorized—I never forget how I feel or what I was doing. I love long car rides alone, just me and the radio, on a clear bright day. I love the smell of freshly cut grass. I love curling up on the couch with a glass of really good red wine, in the fall, when the windows are open, and a cool breeze is softly blowing in. I love crawling into a newly made-up bed after a shower; even better if I have a really good book to go along with it. I love spending a day leisurely shopping for nothing, yet anything, at the same time. I love the smell of Yankee Candle’s Sun and Sand candle burning after spending the day cleaning the house. I love making pasta salad in the summer, and the smell of steaks on the grill. I love going back to Amherst and visiting all the places that made it home for six years. I love warm apple cider doughnuts covered in cinnamon sugar from Atkins Farms. I love remembering a really funny or sweet memory while being out alone, and not being able to stop a huge smile from spreading across my face. I love spotting the perfect light and having my camera ready to capture it. I love warm afternoon rain showers on summer days, when they let up just in time for the sun to come out and set. I love strolling down Newbury St. with an iced coffee, and people watching.
And if you're still reading (all 1 of you, lol), I think Jenn sums it up best when she says:
I love the ordinary beauty of my life with its million-trillion flaws and its scary stops and starts and its painful inadequacy and its subtle disappointments and its sometimes falling short and its forcing me to never—not for one teensy-tiny moment—give up on myself, the one person guaranteed to be with me every day of my life.
If any of you want to do one, I'd love to read! These are the rules:
*I challenge you to make your own list. The only catch? You can't include a single person you know on your list. No "I love the way my husband laughs" or "I love hearing my little girl call for me." It'll be tough, I know. But this particular little exercise is about stripping away everyone who defines you and figuring out what you (not his partner; not their mother/daughter/sister/friend) love.

The sun was out for a bit yesterday breaking the June gloom mode, it felt like spring time for real for an hour or two :) After that, the sun was gone for the rest of the day! I took a snap shot of me while taking a break from volunteer work when the sun was out. It was a fun Saturday for me, hope yours was too. Today, it would be more fun and exciting. I will meet up with my (flickr) friends later this afternoon, I can’t wait!! :)
