The Java Sparrow, also known as Java Finch, Java Rice Sparrow or Java Rice Bird is a small finch that typically breed in Java, Bali and Bawean in Indonesia. It is a popular cagebird, and has been introduced in a large number of other countries.
The Java Sparrow is about 15-17 cm in length from the beak to its tip of tail feathers. The adult is unmistakable, with its grey upperparts and breast, pink belly, white-cheeked black head, red eye-ring, pink feet and thick red bill.
Both sexes are similar. Immature birds have brown upperparts and pale brown underparts, and a plain head. Very young birds have a black beak with a pink base.
This one I came across on a fence railing eating what I suspect was a grape. He/She chirped at me several times and then went about it's business eating.
Here is my LEGO version of "The Java Server" from "The Simpsons" I built it a couple month ago but never had a chance to take pictures of it so here it is!

Java
You are my morning coffee
My java
My caffeine
And my wake-up call
Each morning
And each day
You wake me with kisses
Change my night dreams
To day dreams
Smile like a sun rising
And give me a thousand reasons
To rise and shine
You are my café au lai
My cappuccino
Hot stuff
Jamocha
Joe
Full of punch
Soft with the touches
And tender like the night
You perk me up
Pick me up
And make my day

Central Java R-trip Episode 02 - Lawang Sewu
Lawang Sewu ("Thousand Doors") is a landmark in Semarang, Central Java, Indonesia, built as the headquarters of the Dutch East Indies Railway Company. The colonial era building is famous as a haunted house, though the Semarang city government has attempted to rebrand it.
Lawang Sewu was designed by Cosman Citroen, from the firm of J.F. Klinkhamer and B.J. Quendag. It was designed in New Indies Style, an academically-accepted term for Dutch Rationalism in the Indies. Similar with Dutch Rationalism, the style is the result of the attempt to develop new solutions to integrate traditional precedents (classicism) with new technological possibilities. It can be described as a transitional style between Traditionalists and the Modernists, and was strongly influenced by the design of Berlage.
Construction began in 1904 with A building, which was completed in 1907. The rest of the complex was finished in 1919. It was initially used by the Nederlandsch-Indische Spoorweg Maatschappij, the first railway company in the Dutch East Indies.
After the Japanese invaded Indonesia in 1942, the Japanese army took over Lawang Sewu. The basement of B building was turned into a prison, with several executions taking place there. When Semarang was retaken by the Dutch in the battle of Semarang in October 1945, the Dutch forces used the tunnel leading into A building to sneak into the city. A battle ensued, with numerous Indonesian fighters dying.Five employees working there were also killed.
After the war, the Indonesian army took over the complex. It was later returned to the national railway company. In 1992 it was declared a Cultural Property of Indonesia.

Hedychium (Brachychilum) horsfieldii has small white flowers but brilliant seeds -- the vertical column-- and seed pods --the orange.
I simply adore simple people with a good will, not that I hate the rich, but there's something special about the former. A javanese lady who made me some decent home brewed Java coffee. Fortunately or unfortunately I only got a lo-fi shot from her, and I hoped to return this printed picture to her someday...
The red line's from a messed up roll of Kodak Aerochrome by the Fuji GA645i infrared film-spacing sensor (which of course is registered by an infrared film!). Oh why o why Fuji engineers had to put the sensor in the centre, and not into the corner! I should have known better :-P I guess we live and learn - the GA645i is a fantastic camera, but it's NOT for infrared films.
Fuji GA645i, Fujinon Super-EBC 60mm f4, Kodak (EIR) Aerochrome color infrared film self-developed in Fuji Hunt Chrome 6X kit, wet-mounted drumscan (through PhotoMultiplier Tubes - PMTs - no CCD nor CMOS involved in the digitizing process).
Kukup is a white sandy beach with a path that cut through hills that connect it to the beach Baron. On this beach there is a coral island is also connected by bridges senggol. From the top of this island we can see a fairly broad view of the coast and very beautiful with large waves. Although during the day, if we are on this coral island, the weather will remain cool because the wind was blowing quite hard.
