James Taylor’s Tour in Memphis last night had some awesome visuals. Also had great opening act in Jackson Browne.
"So that’s where you were...😆
I was crazy about you fifty years ago... and it's still a beautiful song to this day.
Jackson Browne - Sold Out (but not for me,....I had a ticket).....June 1st, 1986
Unfortunately I made no photos inside. Very much later I visited the Teatro America in Havana, which is very similar in its architecture to the Radio City Music Hall. More information here: ► Wikipedia - scanned slide, Minolta X700
Looking out at the road rushing under my wheels
I don't know how to tell you all just how crazy this life feels
Look around for the friends that I used to turn to to pull me through
Looking into their eyes I see them running too...

The town of Winslow, Arizona has capitalized on its mention in the famous Eagles song Take it Easy. The town commissioned a mural and two statues. The mural on the side of the building on the right contains the "reflection" of the girl in the flatbed truck. The statue is Jackson Browne as a young man. He co-wrote the autobiographical hit song with Glenn Frey in their youth. There is also a statue of Glen Frey as a young man and an actual red flat bed truck. All these things and more are scattered around in the Standin' on the Corner Park in the center of town.
Happy Window Wednesday!

Wilbur says he feels like he has "been to Mecca" as he loves the Eagles and the song.
This is the front of the Detroit City Music Hall. I liked the legendary performers that they had on the windows up top above the music hall sign. Thanks so much everyone, this one just made Explore!

I love to read. I love to stretch. In the morning, I get up, and if I'm not in a hurry, I will lie on the floor on a rug, look through some books and magazines, and maybe listen to music and try to do stretching exercises to tune up. - Jackson Browne
Thank you for your kind visit. Have a wonderful and beautiful day! xo💜💜
We came, we saw, and we discovered how to Take It Easy.
Well, I'm a-runnin' down the road tryna loosen my load
I've got seven women on my mind
Four that wanna own me, two that wanna stone me
One says she's a friend of mine
Take it easy, take it easy
Don't let the sound of your own wheels drive you crazy
Lighten up while you still can
Don't even try to understand
Just find a place to make your stand
Take it easy
Well, I'm a-standin' on a corner in Winslow, Arizona
Such a fine sight to see
It's a girl, my Lord, in a flatbed Ford
Slowin' down to take a look at me
Come on, baby, don't say maybe
I gotta know if your sweet love is gonna save me
We may lose and we may win
Though we will never be here again
So open up, I'm climbin' in
So take it easy
Well, I'm a-runnin' down the road tryna loosen my load
Got a world of trouble on my mind
Lookin' for a lover who won't blow my cover
She's so hard to find
Take it easy, take it easy
Don't let the sound of your own wheels make you crazy
Come on, baby, don't say maybe
I gotta know if your sweet love is gonna save me
Ooh, ooh
Ooh, ooh
Ooh, ooh
Ooh, ooh
Ooh, ooh
Oh, we got it easy
We oughta take it easy

This reference is in the Eagles' song "Take It Easy" which was their first hit. It was written by Jackson Browne and Glenn Frey, who sang the lead on the recording.
There is a festival each year in honor of this song reference. The red truck in the picture is advertising the 2017 event which had taken place the previous two nights, September 29th and 30th, 2017.

"Doctor My Eyes" - Jackson Browne
Doctor, my eyes have seen the years
And the slow parade of fears without crying
Now I want to understand
I have done all that I could
To see the evil and the good without hiding
You must help me if you can
Doctor, my eyes
Tell me what is wrong
Was I unwise to leave them open for so long
'Cause I have wandered through this world
And as each moment has unfurled
I've been waiting to awaken from these dreams
People go just where there will
I never noticed them until I got this feeling
That it's later than it seems
Doctor, my eyes
Tell me what you see
I hear their cries
Just say if it's too late for me
Doctor, my eyes
Cannot see the sky
Is this the prize for having learned how not to cry
" You were dawn in the light
B&W the picture of a life in flames
B&W the picture of a life remains
And the high ideals and the promise
You once trusted the future knew
Are dancing in the embers with the wind "

"Imagine if Jackson Browne had been a Mopar guy."
Unless you've been around awhile you might not get this one. But, if you do, then you probably instantly recognize something is not quite right here.
This has long been one of my favorite albums by one of my favorite artists. Jackson Browne's 1974 release, Late for the Sky became an instant classic and is widely regarded as one of the best albums he has ever done. Of course I, as a car guy, was immediately drawn into the René Magritte styled album cover with its late evening look (think cruising), wonderful "added" cloudy sky and the cool white 1953 Chevrolet parked out in front.
Well, since I love this album, and cover, and the impression it made on me as a youth I had to, well, you know... I hope you enjoy the results and by the way, one of my favorite songs on the album is "Fountains of Sorrow", said to be about his brief relationship with Joni Mitchell.
"Looking through some photographs I found inside a drawer,
I was taken by a photograph of you.
There were one or two I know that you would have liked a little more,
But they didn't show your spirit quite as true.
You were turning 'round to see who was behind you,
And I took your childish laughter by surprise,
And at the moment that my camera happened to find you,
There was just a trace of sorrow in your eyes."
Oh people, look among you
It's there your hope must lie
There's a sea bird above you
Gliding in one place like Jesus in the sky
We all must do the best we can
And then hang on to that Gospel plow
When my life is over, I'm going to stand before the Father
But the sisters of the sun are going to rock me on the water now...
Jackson Browne~~Rock Me on the Water
In 1972 songwriter Jackson Browne began writing the song "Take it Easy". His then neighbor Glen Frey who had just formed a band (The Eagles) collaborated and finished the song together. Browne gave the song to Frey and it was the first song on the Eagles debut album. The song spent 12 weeks in the billboard top 100. And of course in the song is the classic line "It's a girl my lord in a flatbed Ford"...

And all the times I had the chance to"
Shortly after I moved to California in the seventies, I attended a rally against the construction of this nuclear power plant so close to three or four earthquake faults. I remember hearing Bonnie Raitt and Jackson Browne performing and speaking there. Now PG&E is planning to close the plant. The consumers who had to pay extra for the construction of the plant will now have to pay extra for its mothballing...
Edit: Now they were given more than a billion dollars to keep it open for five years longer than originally considered safe...
« Safe, clean, too cheap to meter!... »
Apart from the danger of earthquake-related nuclear disasters and the impossibility of safe waste disposal, a scientific study now found a remarkable and statistically significant 28% overall increase in infant mortality rates near the Diablo Canyon power plant, correlating significantly with cumulative releases of Tritium from the nuclear power plant to the sea.

Power in the insect
Power in the sea
Power in the snow falling silently
Power in the blossom
Power in the stone
Power in the song being sung alone
Power in the wheatfield
Power in the rain
Power in the sunlight and the hurricane
Power in the silence
Power in the flame
Power in the sound of the lover's name
The power of the sunrise and the power of a prayer released
On the edge of my country, I pray for the ones with the least.

I could have quoted from many sources but as music is an important part of my life I thought I would quote from a well played (great) song. The quote "DON'T CONFRONT ME WITH MY FAILURES. I HAD NOT FORGOTTEN THEM" comes from the song These Days which features on the album For Everyman the second album by American singer/songwriter Jackson Browne, released in 1973. Jackson Browne is a true genius!!
Apologies for today's image - it was absolutely pouring down this morning when I gave this some thought so a simple plant in the warmth of my home became my subject - the processing is OH SO, wrong so, "Don't confront me with my failures. I had not forgotten them"
Push that BIG L for a better view!!
Our Daily Challenge - QUOTE
some of them were dreamers
and some of them were fools
who were making plans and thinking of the future
with the energy of the innocent
they were gathering the tools
they would need to make their journey back to nature
while the sand slipped through the opening
and their hands reached for the golden ring
with their hearts they turned to each other's heart for refuge
in the troubled years that came before the deluge
some of them knew pleasure
and some of them knew pain
and for some of them it was only the moment that mattered
and on the brave and crazy wings of youth
they went flying around in the rain
and their feathers, once so fine, grew torn and tattered
and in the end they traded their tired wings
for the resignation that living brings
and exchanged love's bright and fragile glow
for the glitter and the rouge
and in the moment they were swept before the deluge
now let the music keep our spirits high
and let the buildings keep our children dry
let creation reveal it's secrets by and by
by and by...
when the light that's lost within us reaches the sky
some of them were angry
at the way the earth was abused
by the men who learned how to forge her beauty into power
and they struggled to protect her from them
only to be confused
by the magnitude of her fury in the final hour
and when the sand was gone and the time arrived
in the naked dawn only a few survived
and in attempts to understand a thing so simple and so huge
believed that they were meant to live after the deluge
now let the music keep our spirits high
and let the buildings keep our children dry
let creation reveal it's secrets by and by
by and by...
when the light that's lost within us reaches the sky
