The Covid-19 restrictions are slowly being lifted here so we went to the Farmer's Market to get more produce and help support the local farmers. This market is a mere 10 minutes from our house.

Great day exploring Ithaca. Smaller and quieter than Kefalonia.. Very beautiful.

On the way to the airport to come home. Early morning sun over Ithaca, from the coach.

This is shot of Triphammer Falls, an urban waterfall, named for the pulsing beat it produces. It sits below the dam that creates Beebe Lake on the edge of the Cornell University campus. It is one of several falls on Fall Creek right in the middle of the city. The falls consists of two drops, although the first drop has been partially obscurred by the dam that forms Beebe Lake. The lower half can be viewed from the Thurston Avenue bridge. Triphammer Falls is estimated to be 55-feet high. The pedestrian bridge overlooking Triphammer Falls was built in 1997 to conneect the central and north Cornell campus to replace a 35-year-old bridge which had been closed in 1995 due to structual damage. Off to the right, on the south side, is one of the most interesting features of the falls area, the old dilapated ruins of the Hydraulic Laboratory power station at its base. Triphammer Falls is located near Cornell University in Ithaca ,NY. -- Update: Harmony2101 tells me that the old power station is now gone. I'm glad I got there before it was demolished. It's always sad when we lose a piece of history. As she said, it was a "hauntingly beautiful structure", I think that says it best.
