This is a wire myograph unit, it's an isometric tension recorder, which I'm using to investigate the role of angiotensin II in the pathogenesis of canine endothelial dysfunction for my dissertation. I work with 8 of these units at a time. Incubating within each chamber unit is a canine uterine arterial vessel, it is incubated in krebs, supplied with oxygen and maintainned at 37oc. It was fun to start with, but once you're running your 50th-odd reading it's just not quite as fun any more. However I'm getting some very interesting results which makes up for it. Yay for Veterinary Science.
