Shares a building with the town hall. The library occupies the 2 floors to the left of the entrance.
It is said « Isle of Man » and one thinks „Motorcycle race“. Indeed, this made I.o.M. world famous. However, the Isle is also without race a delightful spot.
Unhappily it’s a little laborious to go there.(2 x Ferry)
I think the mountain with bits of snow on it is Beinn-y-Phott. Kate's Cottage is the white building on the top right - a well-known spot on the TT Mountain Course. The large mast just left of Centre belongs to the Police Station. The 'Joint Emergency Control' room is immediatelt to it's right. This is where all 999 calls on the Island go to. On the seafront on the left is The Castle Mona, former residence of the Duke of Atholl; whilst to the right is the Hilton Hotel, formerly the Stakis, before that The Palace Lido.

Castletown is dominated by the medieval Castle Rushen, one of the best preserved medieval castles in Europe and ancient home of the Kings and later Lords of Mann. Tynwald, the Manx Government, was based in Castle Rushen by the 1500s and Castletown was the Island's capital until Tynwald moved to Douglas during the 1860s and 1870s.
