Historical data suggest that the Squamish First Nation inhabited Bowen Island before European contact. Now it is a well populated Island 20 minutes ferry ride from mainland.
I was amazed to see in the gardens the friendly deer grazing. This is the reason you do not see flower gardens there because deer can hop over high fences. One thing which keeps them away from gardens is the IrishSpring soap put out regular interwalls.
