Invocation of Brigid for Candlemas

Once again the Goddess arises from her slumber to

Walk abroad on the face of the Earth. Close your eyes and see

Her with me now.

Far away, across the Irish sea, She stirs in her sleep,

wakens, stretching and yawning, and rises to begin Her

journey. She walks through still frozen woods, and as She passes,

She brings the first stirrings of life to tender buds buried

beneath the snow.

She passes…and as She passes, the small burrowing creatures

rouse themselves, to behold her with eyes still heavy with sleep.

She passes…and as She passes, the groundhog senses Her

presence in his dreams. And he wakes, climbing from his

burrow for one brief hour, and as She passes, the groundhog

sees her shadow.

She passes…and as She passes, buds and wondering creatures

and groundhog all hear Her voice as wind in the barren

branches of the trees. And She whispers a promise that

Spring will come again. Not yet, not now, but soon, soon…

She passes…and as She passes, She walks over mountains

and hills, through the land that is her home.

And Her steps lengthen and She walks over the waters of the ocean

and through the deserts, and still She is home, for the Earth

itself is Her home, the very planet is Her domain.

And She passes…and She rouses our slumbering hearts

with Her passing, with Her voice murmuring in the wind.

Soon…soon…

And now She is here with us, She passes by us now,

nudging us from our winter dreams. Let’s invite Her to

linger awhile with us, to pause in Her journey and join our

circle, by lighting a sacred fire. In Her homeland, in Kildare,

Her priestesses kept a sacred fire burning at all times on the

hearth of Her temple. Let us now relight that holy flame,

rekindle the fires of Kildare. Let us gaze into the flames and

see the face of Brigid.

A presenter from Kalki Avatar Foundation Sri Lanka grants Invocation of the Heart (simran) to women at the Shiva Temple (Modara, Colombo, Sri Lanka).

Photographie d'un cosplay de Shiva, invocation de l'univers de Final Fantasy

for a self-portrait assignment during my second painting course, i chose to paint with acrylic over an inkjet print of my hand, a digital image which i had created in photoshop. the paper, which curled as paper will do, is attached to a canvas which i painted a warm chromatic black and then covered with penciled words of the loving-kindness meditation which is deeply meaningful to me. the words follow... behind the paper, just where the fingertips come to an end, is a heavy glass tube, lending weight and dimension to the paper as it hangs over the canvas. this work is of acrylic and mixed media on paper, and pencil on canvas, and was created in july 2012.

HH Younus AlGohar as he enters the Vishnu Temple in Colombo Sri Lanka.

A man is given Invocation of the Heart (simran) by a designated Spiritual Minister from Kalki Avatar Foundation (Modara, Colombo, Sri Lanka).

[ENG] The church of Bossost , dedicated to the invocation of the Mother of God of Purification, is one of the best preserved in the entire Val d'Aran region, and a clear example of the prototype of a Romanesque church of the valley (very horizontal buildings, with three naves and three semicircular apses and a very marked gable in the presbytery). It was built in the first half of the 13th century, and includes many foreign decorative elements: strips of blind semicircular arches in the bell tower and apses, or the small vertical lesenes (pilaster strip) on the outside of the apse, both typical of Lombard Romanesque, checkered jaques on the front and eaves… Outside the temple, the highlights are the bell tower, the head and its two façades. More photos in the album Church of Bossost, Aran valley (Spain).

I wish i could be a mermaid...

A man is given Invocation of the Heart (simran) by one of our members (Modara, Colombo, Sri Lanka).

His Holiness offering Spiritual Healing to a woman and child.

Maximillian and Bodmer found a number of these monuments around Fort Union. They were told that they were erected by the Assiniboin to lure buffalo herds to their lands.

Its origin dates back to the 16th century, when it was erected as the Chapel of the Hospital de la Santa Misericordia, belonging to the nuns of the Franciscan Third Order. This Church carried the invocation of Santa Isabel. Since that time, the Image of the Holy Christ of Mercy, Patron Saint of Jódar, has been venerated there. In 1700 the construction of the current building began on a half-built convent ceded by the Marquis, the hermitage was blessed a decade later, the works continued with the construction of a dressing room and others in 1759 with the execution of the magnificent half-orange dome with carving in baroque style plaster. It has undergone important reforms over the centuries, such as the one in 1880 or the one in 1903 when its current dressing room was built.

However, the most important work was from 1966 to 1968, leaving the Church with its current appearance. It has a main altarpiece in neo-Renaissance style by Bravo Nogales (1956) and a marble baptismal font from 1616, as well as a 19th century stained glass window, preserving pictorial works from the 18th and 19th centuries. The Image of Christ is attributed to the Valencian Imagineers Rausell and Llorens (1944). A few years ago the temple underwent a profound restoration that valued its history and heritage, incorporating new artistic pieces such as Our Lady of the Rosary and Aurora from the 17th century.

Next to this Church stands the magnificent building of the Parish Center, built with contributions from the entire city, from 1985 to 2005.

Jodar

This beautiful village, surrounded by olive groves, is situated at the foot of the Sierra Magina Mountains, with vast extensions of olive trees on one side, and mountains on the other. The village, the most populated in the Park, spreads over a hill under the vigilance of a beautiful castle, which is also part of the Historic Artistic site. It also boasts a magnificent Parish Church.

Its municipal boundaries lie within the Sierra Magina Natural Park, a part of the Subbetic region, which offers beautiful and spectacular views. With regard to vegetation, Holm and Gall oaks are frequent, as well as pine trees and salgareños. Its rich and varied wildlife is also important.

Part of the Alto Guadalquivir Natural Space, an important wetland of great environmental importance, also lies within its district.

History

During the al-Andalus period it was called Galdur y Xauda. Its castle is among the oldest in the province, as it has been documented since the year 860. In the 10th century, the Arab governor Jair Aben Xaquir, declared it independent and joined the rebellious Omar Ben Hafsun, later to betray him. One of Omar Ben Hafsun"s deputies beheaded him and sent his head to Cordoba.

The Christian conquest was carried out by Sancho Martí-nez de la Torre in 1231, by order of King Fernando III, as a starting point in the battle for Ubeda.

In 1485, Diaz Sanchez de Carvajal founded an estate over Jodar, with the approval of the Catholic Kings, until the abolition of estate privileges in the 19th century.

Through a belief in the Threeness,

Through confession of the Oneness

Of the Creator of creation.

I arise today

Through the strength of Christ's birth and His baptism,

Through the strength of His crucifixion and His burial,

Through the strength of His resurrection and His ascension,

Through the strength of His descent for the judgment of doom.

I arise today

Through the strength of the love of cherubim,

In obedience of angels,

In service of archangels,

In the hope of resurrection to meet with reward,

In the prayers of patriarchs,

In preachings of the apostles,

In faiths of confessors,

In innocence of virgins,

In deeds of righteous men.

I arise today

Through the strength of heaven;

Light of the sun,

Splendor of fire,

Speed of lightning,

Swiftness of the wind,

Depth of the sea,

Stability of the earth,

Firmness of the rock.

I arise today

Through God's strength to pilot me;

God's might to uphold me,

God's wisdom to guide me,

God's eye to look before me,

God's ear to hear me,

God's word to speak for me,

God's hand to guard me,

God's way to lie before me,

God's shield to protect me,

God's hosts to save me

From snares of the devil,

From temptations of vices,

From every one who desires me ill,

Afar and anear,

Alone or in a mulitude.

I summon today all these powers between me and evil,

Against every cruel merciless power that opposes my body and soul,

Against incantations of false prophets,

Against black laws of pagandom,

Against false laws of heretics,

Against craft of idolatry,

Against spells of women and smiths and wizards,

Against every knowledge that corrupts man's body and soul.

Christ shield me today

Against poison, against burning,

Against drowning, against wounding,

So that reward may come to me in abundance.

Christ with me, Christ before me, Christ behind me,

Christ in me, Christ beneath me, Christ above me,

Christ on my right, Christ on my left,

Christ when I lie down, Christ when I sit down,

Christ in the heart of every man who thinks of me,

Christ in the mouth of every man who speaks of me,

Christ in the eye that sees me,

Christ in the ear that hears me.

I arise today

Through a mighty strength, the invocation of the Trinity,

Through a belief in the Threeness,

Through a confession of the Oneness

Of the Creator of creation.

St. Patrick (ca. 377)

With dew drops and what roses carry, Eid Mubarak to those who boiled them have no extent. May Allah make the dawn of the feast a light and its back of pleasure and its era, and its Moroccan forgiveness and an invocation for you, and He gave you an endless provision and opened a door in Paradise that will not be blocked and every year you are fine :)

Kyzyl - capital of Tuva - Siberia - "Republic of Tuva" Siberia, kamlanie, ritual, Russia, shaman, Sjamaan, Tuva

Welcome to the shaman. Shaman - ceremony

Shamans'kamlaniye - Kamlanie is a magical communication between shamans and spirits. Accompanied by the sound of drum, the shaman emits sounds resembling to voices of a crow or a cuckoo-bird. These are magical birds which empower the shaman to sing his incantations. He is sitting backwards to the fire , monotonously beats his drum and has a conversation with his supporting spirits.

Finally he banishes evil spirits away or claims the situation to be fatal. Whatever the outcome of the kamlanie is, the shaman makes sacrifice to his spirit-helpers with spraying milk over four directions and burning pieces of meat and bread.

This rite can be of two kinds : the one of healing and the one of worship: worship of fire, worship of sacred trees or worship of patron of a clan. The kamlanie is held according to regular and fixed scheme: purification - invocation of necessary spirits - searching for the reason of a desease or ritual consecration processing - hostile spirits exorcism - fortune-telling of the results of the kamlanie or the future of presented people.

Basilica on the Cathedral Hill

The Cathedral Basilica under the invocation of Ascension of Our Lady Mary and St. Andrew Apostel – the eldest building on the hill, built in years 1329-1388. It has a few additions, including two chapels: of St. George (known as the Polish Chapel) – built around 1500, and of the Saviour ( Szembek’s Chapel) – baroque, built in 1735.

The Varmian Cathedral is a gothic, hall-like, three-aisle structure. It is around 97 m long, its width is from 12 m in the presbytery to 22 m in the main part, and the distance from the floor to the keystone of the vault is 16,5 m.

The most important monuments in the Cathedral are:

1. Late gothic polyptych (until the middle of 18th century the main altar), given in 1504 by bp. Lucas Watzenrode, Copernicus’ uncle,

2. Stone portal in the western porch (14th-century),

3. Painted epitaph of the canon Bartholomew Boreschow, created after 1426,

4. Crucifix from the end of 15th century, in the rainbow,

5. Fragments of gothic stalls in the presbytery,

6. Gothic tombstones,

7. Organ prospect (1683),
