On May 31st 2019 the Los Angeles County FIre Department held its 14th annual explorer program awards banquet. Retired Fire Captain John Price was the Master of Ceremonies, the Pleadge of allegiance was performed by Fire Explorer Leila Gascon and National Anthem was performend by Fire Fighter Aaron Katon and Fire Fighter Jason Gates. The invocation was read by Fire Fighter Paramedic Douglas Campbell the welcome address was read by Deputy Chief Anthony C. Marrone. The keynote Speaker was Brendan McDonough. Legislator Kara Hahn this week welcomed Assistant Pastor Kate Jones Calone of the Setauket Presbyterian Church to the Suffolk County Legislature to offer the customary invocation delivered at the beginning of each general session of the governing body.
In her message to law makers, Pastor Calone offered the following, “May our shared gratefulness translate into a cooperative stewardship for the people and the land entrusted to our care. May this body approach its work with energy, wisdom, mutual respect and commitment, and with great reverence for the privilege of representing each life within its bounds.”
