We hope to see you all there.
Paimpont forest, also known as Brocéliande, is in the French commune of Paimpont, near the city of Rennes in Brittany. As Brocéliande it had a reputation in the Medieval imagination as a place of magic and mystery. It is the setting of a number of adventures in Arthurian legend, notably Chrétien de Troyes's Yvain, the Knight of the Lion, and locals claim the tree in which the Lady of the Lake supposedly imprisoned Merlin can still be seen today. Other legendary places said to lie within the forest include the Val sans Retour, the tomb of Merlin, the Fountain of Youth, and Hotié de Vivianne (castle of the Lady of the Lake). The medieval chronicler Wace visited the forest but left disappointed:
"...I went there in search of marvels; I saw the forest and the land and looked for marvels, but found none. I came back as a fool and went as a fool. I went as a fool and came back as a fool. I sought foolishness and considered myself a fool."
For those living close to Paimpont, the Arthurian legend is very strong. Many names in the legend can be translated into Breton or French, for example the name Lancelot translates as "wanderer" or "vagabond" in Breton. There is also a strong influence from the Druids, and all around Brittany are standing stones or alignments, the most famous of which are nearby at Carnac; a group of the alignments at Kerlescan are nicknamed "the soldiers of Arthur."
Paimpont is a forest of broadleaf trees, oaks and beeches mainly, with areas of conifers either inside after clear-felling or on the periphery as transition with the moor, for example towards the west in the sector of Tréhorenteuc and the Val-sans-Retour (= Valley of no Return) which was devastated by several fires in particular in 1976, a year of great drought. It occupies mainly the territory of the commune of Paimpont, but extends to bordering communes, mainly Guer and Beignon in the south, Saint-Péran in the northeast, and Concoret in north. The forest of Paimpont is the largest remnant of an ancient forest occupying Argoat, the interior region of Brittany. It was more often called the forest of Brécélien, but its ancient character and other qualities underlined by many authors decided on its name of "forest of Brocéliande," tallying of the adventures of the legend of the Round Table. This flattering designation was reinforced by the birth of the Pays de Brocéliande at the end of the 20th century, an institution intended to facilitate the development of the communes of the west of the département.
The relative altitude of the forested massif contributes to give it a climate close to the oceanic climate of the coasts of Finistere. This mode, where west and south-west winds carry of clouds and regular rain supports the vegetation, dominates. The surplus of water feeds the many brooks occupying the bottoms of small valleys before flowing into the river Aff, then the Vilaine, to the area around Redon in the south of the department. The highest point is at 256 m in the western part called Haute forêt. Altitude decreases regularly while offering viewpoints towards the department of Morbihan; viewpoints which one finds the equivalents in the north on the commune of Mauron, port of the Côtes-d'Armor. It is not far from there that the Paimpont Biological Station of the University of Rennes 1, built in 1966 and 1967, dominates the lake of Chatenay. The varied forest and its surroundings constitute a framework favorable to many training courses in which the Rennes 1 biology students as well as foreign researchers take part. These buildings can accommodate approximately 70 people, and researchers work all the year on subjects generally very far away from the local biotope such as behavior of primates, represented by Cercopithecus, whose cries are familiar for the area but surprising to the walker little accustomed to this exotic fauna. The first researchers lengthily studied the ecology of the Armorican moors, the grounds, and the hydrology.
The forest belongs mainly to owners who maintain it and exploit it for timber and hunting; only in the north-eastern part, a small part (10%) is "domanial" and is managed by the National Forestry Commission. This situation prevents freedom of movement in the forest even with the access to the borough and its pond. The owners, however, signed a convention authorizing, from April 1 to the end of September, the use of some hiking trails in the forest. Among the responsibilities of the forest guards are watching for behaviors that threaten the forest, its flora, and its fauna. For example, behaviors that pose the risk of fire, and those that endanger the game, like dogs running loose. The gathering of mushrooms is not absolutely prohibited, but it is only tolerated near the approved trails. Because of its importance before the French Revolution, the forest was the responsibility of a royal jurisdiction called the National Forestry Commission, as the traditional jurisdictions of the seigneurs did not occupying itself with forest management. The wood was excessively exploited for the power supply of the charcoal blast furnaces for the nearby industry, at least in the 17th and 18th centuries; the assignment of the trees of first choice to the navy was a marginal role.
An extract of the files of the correctional court of Montfort:
"Having left the forging mills of Paimpont on Monday morning, he passed by the workshop of the carpenter who was far away from the forging mills but in the middle of the forest, he drank there with Julien Auffray his cousin and foreman of the carpenters." (Foreman of the carpenters and sawyers on contract to the naval yards elsewhere). Auffray interrogation, 1826.
The Matter of Britain is a name given collectively to the legends that concern the Celtic and legendary history of Great Britain, especially those focused on King Arthur and the knights of the Round Table. The 12th century French poet Jean Bodel created the name in the following lines of his epic Chanson de Saisnes:
Ne sont que III matières à nul homme atandant,
De France et de Bretaigne, et de Rome la grant.
The name distinguishes and relates the Matter of Britain from the mythological themes taken from classical antiquity, the "matter of Rome", and the tales of the paladins of Charlemagne and their wars with the Moors and Saracens, which constituted the "matter of France". While Arthur is the chief subject of the Matter of Britain, other lesser-known legendary history of Great Britain, including the stories of Brutus of Britain, Old King Cole, King Lear, and Gogmagog, is also included in the Matter of Britain: see Legendary Kings of the Britons.
Legendary history of Britain
It could be said that the legendary history of Britain was created in part to form a body of patriotic myth for the island. Several agendas thus can be seen in this body of literature.
The Historia Britonum, the earliest known source of the story of Brutus of Britain, may have been devised to create a distinguished genealogy for a number of Welsh princes in the 9th century. Traditionally attributed to Nennius, its actual compiler is unknown; it exists in several recensions. This tale went on to achieve greater currency because its inventor linked Brutus to the diaspora of heroes that followed the Trojan War, and thus provided raw material which later mythographers such as Geoffrey of Monmouth, Michael Drayton, and John Milton could draw upon, linking the settlement of Britain to the heroic age of Greek literature, for their several and diverse literary purposes. As such, this material could be used for patriotic mythmaking just as Virgil linked the mythical founding of Rome to the Trojan War in The Æneid. Geoffrey of Monmouth also introduced the fanciful claim that the Trinovantes, reported by Tacitus as dwelling in the area of London, had a name he interpreted as Troi-novant, "New Troy".
More speculative claims link Celtic mythology with several of the rulers and incidents compiled by Geoffrey of Monmouth in his Historia Regum Britanniæ. It has been suggested, for instance, that Leir of Britain, who later became Shakespeare's King Lear, was originally the Welsh sea-god Llŷr (see also the Irish sea-god Lir). Various Celtic deities have been identified with characters from Arthurian literature as well: Morgan le Fay was often thought to have originally been the Welsh goddess Modron (cf. the Irish goddess Mórrígan). Many of these identifications come from the speculative comparative religion of the late 19th century, and have been questioned in more recent years.
William Shakespeare seems to have been deeply interested in the legendary history of Britain, and to have been familiar with some of its more obscure byways. Shakespeare's plays contain several tales relating to these legendary kings, such as King Lear and Cymbeline. It has been suggested that Shakespeare's Welsh schoolmaster Thomas Jenkins introduced him to this material, and perhaps directed him to read Geoffrey of Monmouth[citation needed]. These tales also figure in Raphael Holinshed's The Chronicles of England, Scotland, and Ireland, which also appears in Shakespeare's sources for Macbeth. A Welsh schoolmaster appears as the character Sir Hugh Evans in The Merry Wives of Windsor.
Other early authors also drew from the early Arthurian and pseudo-historical sources of the Matter of Britain. The Scots, for instance, formulated a mythical history in the Picts and the Dál Riata royal lines. While they do eventually become factual lines, unlike those of Geoffrey, their origins are vague and often incorporate both aspects of mythical British history and mythical Irish history. The story of Gabhran especially incorporates elements of both those histories.
The Arthurian cycle
"Parsifal before the Castle of the Grail" - inspired by Richard Wagner's Opera Parsifal - painted in Weimar Germany 1928 by Hans Werner Schmidt (1859-1950)
The Arthurian literary cycle is the best known part of the Matter of Britain. It has succeeded largely because it tells two interlocking stories that have intrigued many later authors. One concerns Camelot, usually envisioned as a doomed utopia of chivalric virtue, undone by the fatal flaws of Arthur and Sir Lancelot. The other concerns the quests of the various knights to achieve the Holy Grail; some succeed (Galahad, Percival), and others fail (Lancelot).
The medieval tale of Arthur and his knights is full of Christian themes; those themes involve the destruction of human plans for virtue by the moral failures of their characters, and the quest for an important Christian relic. Finally, the relationships between the characters invited treatment in the tradition of courtly love, such as Lancelot and Guinevere, or Tristan and Iseult. In more recent years, the trend has been to attempt to link the tales of King Arthur and his knights with Celtic mythology, usually in highly romanticized, early twentieth century reconstructed versions.
Additionally, it is possible to read the Arthurian literature in general, and that concerned with the Grail tradition in particular, as an allegory of human development and spiritual growth (a theme explored by mythologist Joseph Campbell amongst others).

About Amazon Studios’ Bosch
Based on Michael Connelly’s internationally best-selling Harry Bosch book series with nearly 50 million copies sold,Bosch follows relentless LAPD homicide detective Harry Bosch as he pursues the killer of a 13-year-old boy while standing trial in federal court on accusations that he murdered a suspected killer in cold blood. We hope to see you all there.
The girls received a big apple invite from Holly this week:o)
We are all getting excited around here!
I got invited by a contact to join 365nudes. I joined (looks like you put your nude 365s in this pool, in addition to whatever 365 group you originally shot them for). I told my husband about it. He seemed less than thrilled, but there was no yelling or arguing or anything. Just his kind of low key discomfort. I was irritated with him, but not crying or anything. Next thing I know, my nose is bleeding.
I really can't hide my emotions. My body just shows them.
So this is what it looks like if I just let it bleed. At first I caught it with my hand, but it overflowed, so then I just let it drip onto the kitchen floor.
Don't worry, I'm fine. Just a normal day for me.
I've gotten nosebleeds all my life. As an adult, it's only the left side that bleeds. It used to be both.
Later, as I was cleaning up the blood, my husband explained that he doesn't want anyone pursuing/bothering/harassing me like a few people have been lately. He's afraid that my joining 365nudes will bring more freaks out of the woodwork. I understand his fear, but don't feel it myself.
The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service (APHIS) Plant Protection and Quarantine (PPQ) technicians contact and work with state, local partners, and residents to survey and help stop the spread of the spotted lanternfly, a destructive insect that feeds on a wide range of fruit, ornamental, and hardwood trees, including grapes, apples, walnut, and oak; a serious threat to the United States' agriculture and natural resources, such as here in Elverson, Pennsylvania, on August 29, 2018. Quick reference pest identification cards and door hangers are left to inform people and residents. If invited to survey their property and SLF are found, they are invited to volunteer for treatment of their outdoor property. In this wooded area, hundreds of SLF from each Tree of Heaven seen here are expelling a drizzle of sticky excrement down onto this homeowner’s lawn, ornamental plants, garden ornaments and outdoor fire pit sitting area, blackening the surface and promoting the growth of mold. To prevent entry and transportation to other areas the residents keep the windows and doors of vehicles and structures closed.
The pest damages plants as it sucks sap from branches, stems, and tree trunks. The repeated feedings leave the tree bark with dark scars. Spotted lanternfly also excretes a sticky fluid, which promotes mold growth and further weakens plants and puts our agriculture and forests at risk. Native to Asia, the spotted lanternfly has no natural enemies in North America. it's free to multiply and ravage orchards, vineyards, and wooded areas. The invasive insect was first detected in the United States in Pennsylvania in 2014, and has now spread to several states, by people who accidentally move infested material or items containing egg masses.
Most states are at risk of the pest. USDA and our state and local partners are working hard to stop the spread of this invasive pest, but we need your help. Look for signs of spotted lanternfly. Inspect your trees and plants for young spotted lanternfly, adults, and egg masses. Adult spotted lanternflies are approximately 1 inch long and one-half inch wide, and they have large and visually striking wings. Their forewings are light brown with black spots at the front and a speckled band at the rear. Their hind wings are scarlet with black spots at the front and white and black bars at the rear. Their abdomen is yellow with black bars. Nymphs in their early stages of development appear black with white spots and turn to a red phase before becoming adults. Egg masses are yellowish-brown in color, covered with a gray, waxy coating prior to hatching. Look for nymphs, adults, and eggs on trees. The Tree of Heaven is the preferred tree. Spotted lanternfly lay their eggs on a variety of smooth surfaces. Look for egg masses (which are off-white to grey and textured patches) on tree bark, vehicles, buildings, and outdoor items. USDA Photo by Lance Cheung.
Find it, report it!
Contact your State Department of Agriculture or the Extension specialist near you to report signs of spotted lanternfly. If possible, take a picture or capture the insect in alcohol.
Stop the Spread
Everyone can play a role in stopping the spread of spotted lanternfly
Remove and Destroy
Crush nymph and adult spotted lanternflies. Scrape egg masses into hand sanitizer or rubbing alcohol.

Met up with Haruka and her mom over the weekend for a shoot. She's currently 16 years old, studying senior high school here in Japan.

WEDDING INVITE
This accordian fold invite packaged in twine and handmade paper was so special it made it into the bride's thank you speech at the wedding reception. It also made a newborn baby cry tears of joy in the back of the room. Or maybe she just needed a fresh diaper. But thats not as fun to think about.
The Prairie Fire indoor track and field teams held the Fire Starter Invite in the T. Fleming Fieldhouse on Saturday, January 17, 2015.
Guests were invited to take a fresh look at ‘furnishing’ the eco-friendly way (whilst helping those in need) by merging the pre-loved and the contemporary and shown first-hand exactly what can be achieved with a little TLC and a sprinkle of imagination!
Leading Australian visionaries joined us for the event, and brought ‘Furnish With A Conscience’ to life by dedicating their time and talents to the campaign and creating a variety of pieces for the home using hand-picked finds sourced from various Salvos Stores throughout Sydney. These included the likes of:
Patchwork cushions made from sweaters, knitwear and fashion garments by fashion designer Kirrily Johnston; a chandelier made using silver knives, forks and spoons by interior designer Gregory Mellor; a throw and two lamps (all which had an “I Dream of Genie on holiday in Hawaii, feel about them”) by Interiors mentor and Orson & Blake owner David Heimann; a four-foot picture frame which was turned into a mirror / reference board by Megan Morton (who lives and breathes all matters of the home); a dressing table and stool by professional ballerina and model Natalie Decorte; two foot stools called ‘Arthur & Martha’ by Julie Paterson from ‘Cloth Fabric’; a complete dining room setting including tables, chairs and a side board which was completely revamped and upholstered by Better Homes and Gardens DIY expert Tara Dennis; a hat stand which was dressed in cheerful bits and bobs to create an eclectic unique look to your home, wardrobe and style, by Pip Edwards, as well as four extraordinary, complete room set-ups (a sitting room, a bedroom, a terrace and a dining room, all of which were shot at Rose Seidler House, Wahroonga, for the Furnish With A Conscience campaign), by the highly creative and talented interiors stylist Sibella Court.
These unique pieces assisted in transforming the St Peters Salvos Store into a serene and magical place for a relaxed and thought-provoking sit-down ‘brunch by bills’ to celebrate the official launch of ‘Furnish With A Conscience’. Chairs were a mixture of ‘reclaimed and refurbished’ ones from Salvos Stores, as well as a handful of bentwood style and button linen chairs brand new from Orson & Blake. This mix of the vintage and reclaimed combined with modern furniture, “gives a sense of whimsy, playfulness and humour” as David Heimann from Orson & Blake expressed.
However, ‘furnishing with a conscience’ did not stop there…. The table for 60 guests was decorated in a simple and casually elegant fashion – all fairly fun, quirky and unexpected, similar in style to an impromptu English garden party. Red and pink roses and a selection of small and sweet flowers with a, “clipped straight from the garden type feel”, were popped into various small low-to-table vessels and vintage cut glass, mixed up with a sprinkle of silver objects (from Salvos Stores) and a selection of modern white ceramics such as tall bird vases, pear shaped bud vases and various other objects including little birds, large white, elephants and other animals. Napkins were placed on vintage, irregular china plates with a different pattern for everyone, (sourced at Salvos Stores), half were white Linen and Moore (from Orson & Blake) and the other half were a selection of assorted napkins of various fabrics with a sunny Sunday feel to them, which had been created by-hand especially for the occasion. Glasses were also mixed and matched adding to the fun, relaxed and summery feel of the morning.
Guests were treated to a delicious brunch by bills including Fresh strawberries with yoghurt and honey; Crusty white baguettes filled with a fine herb omelette; Open sandwiches of our cured ocean trout, fresh ricotta with a caper and parsley salad; a selection of fresh fruit muffins, Parkers Organic Juice and a ‘Sunrise Smoothie” of orange juice, banana, yoghurt and berries; as well as a small ‘Coffee and Tea Cart” – all of which was served with a sweet smile.
Even the goodie bags continued the ‘Something old, Something new” theme. They included a variety of cherry picked individual pieces selected from Salvos Stores, various gifts from Orson & Blake, Murobond Paint samples, paintbrushes, measuring tapes, Guylian chocolates, Parkers Organic orange juice, as well as a selection of other bits and bobs which would assist in a day of home renovation and DIY!
The event was certainly a success and an elegant reminder of what can be achieved when you put your mind to it – AND whilst helping those in need!

About FXX’s The League
To be a fan of FXX’s THE LEAGUE, you don't need to know much about fantasy football, or sports at all. You just need to have friends that you hate. The ensemble comedy follows a group of old friends in a fantasy football league who care very deeply … about beating each other for bragging rights. The League was created by the husband-and-wife team of Jeff Schaffer (Curb Your Enthusiasm, Seinfeld) and Jackie Marcus Schaffer (Disturbia, Eurotrip) who serve as executive producers and directors.
The League features an ensemble cast of rising actors/comedians. Stephen Rannazzisi (Breaking Dad) is “Kevin,” a happily married father and commissioner of the league. Katie Aselton (The Sea of Trees) plays “Jenny,” Kevin’s wife and his better half - especially when it comes to Fantasy Football. Mark Duplass (Togetherness) plays “Pete,” the perennial league champ who is struggling to become an adult. Jon Lajoie (Let's Be Cops) is “Taco,” Kevin’s little brother, a part-time musician and full-time stoner with little interest in fantasy other than hanging with his buddies (whom he struggles to remember). Nick Kroll (Kroll Show) plays “Ruxin,” who believes he is the smartest of the group but can't figure out how exactly the other guys are screwing him over. “Andre,” played by Paul Scheer (Fresh Off the Boat), has continued to be the punching bag of the group since their high school days – a fact that hasn’t changed despite the fact he is now a successful plastic surgeon. www.facebook.com/theleagueFXX www.twitter.com/theleaguefx www.fxx.com/theleague
Starring: Mark Duplass, Nick Kroll, Jon Lajoie, Stephen Rannazzisi, Paul Scheer, Katie Aselton
About FXX’s You’re the Worst
An original comedy from writer and executive producer Stephen Falk, YOU’RE THE WORST puts a dark twist on the romantic comedy genre. Narcissistic, brash, and self-destructive “Jimmy Shive-Overly,” played by Chris Geere (The Spa), thinks all relationships are doomed. Cynical, people-pleasing, and stubborn “Gretchen Cutler,” played by Aya Cash (The Wolf of Wall Street), knows that relationships aren't for her. So when they meet at a wedding, it's only natural that the two of them go home together and, despite their better judgment, begin to find themselves falling for each other. After a whirlwind courtship that culminates in Gretchen burning her apartment down with a faulty “back massager,” she and Jimmy are forced to take their relationship to the next level by moving in together (which neither of them are particularly thrilled about).
Rounding out the cast is Desmin Borges (The Good Wife), who plays “Edgar Quintero,” Jimmy’s once homeless, war veteran roommate; and Kether Donohue (The Carrie Diaries) as “Lindsay Jillian,” Gretchen’s best friend and former partner in crime who’s now struggling to find her identity after being dumped by her “lame, soft” husband. You're The Worst is a modern look at love and happiness told through the eyes of two people who haven't been very successful with either. It's the story of Gretchen and Jimmy, fear, heartbreak, romance, sex, food, Los Angeles, friendship, and the fact that sometimes the worst people make the best partners. You’re The Worst is produced by FX Productions.

About Cinderella
The story of “Cinderella” follows the fortunes of young Ella (Lily James) whose merchant father remarries following the death of her mother. Eager to support her loving father, Ella welcomes her new Stepmother (Cate Blanchett) and her daughters Anastasia (Holliday Grainger) and Drisella (Sophie McShera) into the family home. But, when Ella’s father unexpectedly passes away, she finds herself at the mercy of a jealous and cruel new family. When Ella meets a dashing stranger in the woods, unaware that he is really the Prince (Richard Madden) and not merely Kit, an apprentice at the palace, she believes she has finally found a kindred soul. Meanwhile, the calculating Grand Duke (Stellan Skarsgård) devises a plan to thwart the Prince’s hopes of reuniting with Ella and enlists the support of the devious Stepmother. But, as in all good fairy tales, help is at hand. Soon, a kindly beggar woman (Helena Bonham Carter) steps forward and, armed with a pumpkin, a few mice and a magic wand, changes Cinderella’s life forever.
Directed by Academy Award® nominee Kenneth Branagh (“Thor,” “Hamlet”) and starring two-time Academy Award winner Cate Blanchett (“Blue Jasmine,” “Elizabeth”), Lily James (“Downton Abbey”), Richard Madden (“Game of Thrones”) and Academy Award nominee Helena Bonham Carter (“The King’s Speech,” “Alice in Wonderland”), “Cinderella” is produced by Simon Kinberg (“X-Men: Days of Future Past,” “Elysium”), Allison Shearmur (“The Hunger Games: Mockingjay, Part 1”) and David Barron (“Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 1”) with Tim Lewis (“Edge of Tomorrow”) serving as executive producer. The screenplay is by Chris Weitz (“About a Boy,” “The Golden Compass”).

The combined save-the-date/invite for the decidedly nerdy wedding that the FH and I are putting together. Designed by my super-talented cousin-in-law as a wedding gift with wording tweaked by me from an OB post. I'm so excited!

Today I was invited to attend the ‘Taste Of Mexico’ at the mansion house in Dublin and I must admit that it was a wonderful experience. I had some really excellent food and drink and got to meet some interesting people. I also discovered how the Marker Hotel in Dublin Docklands got its name.
The highlight of the day was a competition to find “The Best Enchilada in Ireland” The judges included the Lord Mayor of Dublin, Christy Burke, Mexican chef Helma Honda and renowned award winning chef and TV personality Darina Allen. And the winner was the Little Ass Burrito Bar [congratulations!]. A customer of the Hungry Mexican is about to get a really big surprise … they [the customer] won an amazing prize … a trip to Mexico for two.
Mingle Media TV and Red Carpet Report host, Linda Antwi were invited to come out and cover the AFI Fest's red carpet for Rust and Bone Gala Screening featuring A Tribute to Marion Cotillard at Grauman’s Chinese Theater in Hollywood.
Be sure to visit our Red Carpet Report site for all the details including photos and interviews here: www.redcarpetreporttv.com.
RUST AND BONE is Jacques Audiard’s follow-up to A PROPHET, which won the Grand Prix at Cannes in 2009. With his new
film, Audiard gives us Stephanie (Marion Cotillard) and Ali (Matthias Schoenaerts), two independent and strong-willed souls
who bond in the aftermath of a tragic accident. The chemistry between Schoenaerts and Cotillard gives their rocky love story
balance. The accident causes the confident Stephanie, a former trainer of killer whales to lose her sense of self, while Ali, a
back alley boxer, struggles with having to choose between his own martial arts ambitions, being a good father and pursuing a
relationship for which neither of them is ready.
Marion Cotillard’s performance grounds the film by giving Stephanie a fiery spirit that, at first, mediates the aggressiveness and
testosterone driving Audiard’s tough narrative, and then ultimately fuels the film’s perpetual energy, the fire through which
Stephanie must pass in order to emerge as a woman rediscovered and reborn.
