In 1991, leaving Cedars-Sinai Medical Center with a new-born Lucy, Lorraine and I met Jerry Vale and his wife, Rita Vitaliano. The five of us were in an elevator. I said, "MIST-er Jerry Vale!" and related having seen him live on The Steel Pier in Atlantic City in the 60s. He was warm and friendly, and among other things he said, "May God bless this child and your family." Rita advised Lorraine to make sure she covered the baby's head by the time we got outside.

Sal and Mario do a great job. Sal often tells a story on himself about how nobody ever believes him when he mentions that he's Guy Lombardo's grand-nephew.
Mario likes to say that he could've become a successful cheese salesman. Gourmet cheese distribution is his family's fourth-generation business, in which Mario participates: so, he IS a success in the cheese business, for which he openly thanks God. Mario says, "It ain't scampi without mozzarella, and it ain't a cannoli without the 'riggawt'."

Every year in San Biagio della Cima which is just up the valley from Vallecrosia Alta, there is an exhibition called "Rose in Esposizione". Last year it was bang in the middle of May, it's usually around that time. You can keep a look-out on the www.rivieraligure.it website.
Invitations, RSVP cards and envelopes designed for friends of mine and letterpress printed by the fine people (actually person) at Lunar Caustic Press in Toronto.
This project will be featured in an article later this year in Style at Home magazine here in Canada.
This invitation features a smooth white card with a die cut aperture framing your
personal monogram. The text on the card is in black thermography and the
monogrammed insert can be flat printed or thermographed. We will design your
monogram to suit or we can print from your design.
Matching smooth white envelopes with black linings give a touch of class to this design.

This is another shot of this boat an estuary taken while holidaying in Tasmania. I think this one may be a bit better as it appears to be an invitation to jump in the boat and cast off!

This is a photo from my daughter's photography show in New York. Beth started this project 5 years ago in art school. Her senior project was on the motels around Los Angeles. After graduating, she drove across the US from Los Angeles to New York photographing motels. In the process she met many people who lived in these motels. These are not the Days Inns or Quality Courts, these are the old motels that were once on the major roads that have now been bypassed by the super highways. They have become the refuge of people on welfare and people who just can't afford to live anywhere else. In meeting the people and hearing their stories, the project shifted from photographs of the motels themselves to photographs of the people living there and documenting their lives and stories, hence the title "Home Sweet Home.
Beth worked for three years as the manager of Exhibition Prints" a custom photography lab in New York and does all of her own work from taking the pictures to the final print. She shoots medium format color negative film. She first learned to print Black & White at Berkeley High. She continued with photography at California College of Arts and Crafts in Oakland California. She received her degree in fine arts from Cal Arts (California Institute of the Arts) in Valencia California.
The show is occuring simultaneously with the release of the spring issue of Fader Magazine which has devoted 10 pages to her work.
Needless to say she has two very proud parents, go girl!!!!
