Day 1 of walking around Manchester yielded a number of discoveries, including getting lost in the Northern Quarter and stumbling upon one of Invader's gifts to the urban landscape.

That's my little shop (Robot Shop) in the background! I'm so pleased to have an invader on my doorstep. I'm going to have a chat with the market manager. It would be so sad if they removed it.

This space invader is located on the underpass of the famous Boulevard Périphérique at the Porte Chaumont. Seen from the Boulevard d'Indochine.

This aircraft was moved from North Dakota as part of a training exercise in 2007. Restoration was complete by 2009 for display, not long before I took this shot.
