Have a great week... and be good, Santa is just around the corner!!

:-)

The Intrepid is a WW II ship and is now a museum located at Pier 86 at 46th Street in the Hell's Kitchen neighborhood on the West Side of Manhattan.

Ypache on a solo free climb...

Rainy, windy 2nd of January. Storm Eleanor on the way, so the pick-up was parked near the gate, down the drive from the yard, in case any slates flew off the roofs of the outbuildings.

Anything new or different, and I can rely on Ypache to be all over it! Here, she jumped onto the bonnet, slid down the windscreen then leapt up onto the roof. She jumped down onto the flat bed, stuck her wee head round to the side of the car then proceeded to climb onto the door handle then the window rubber...Why? To see her reflection in the dark window! She slid off, twice, and repeated the process, twice. I’m getting this wee girl a mirror!

Intrepid Sea, Air & Space Museum, New York. Happy Memorial Day!

Jessore, Bangladesh, 2014

At the weekend, my wife's side of the family came up from the south (London and Christchurch, in Dorset) to celebrate our niece's dedication. On the Saturday, we all made a trip to Dovedale, in Derbyshire, with a mission to climb Thorpe Cloud!

Well? We did it!

On our descent, I took a sneaky shot of my father-in-law. He remains to be one of the kindest, most generous, people I have ever met....

...and he also happens to be my photography-teacher!

At the Zollverein world heritage site in Essen, Germany, visitors enjoy a unique view from the glass-encased escalators leading up to (and down from) the visitors center. The intrepid use the stairs.

many posts a little diff.

I had to post this as I was totally surprised to see a fly fisherman in the creek when it was snowing. If you notice there is a man on the right side of the river here fishing. I think the temperature was about 25 F at the time. The last thing I wanted to do in this weather was get into the water!

The Saint Elena canyon trail along the Rio Grande is one of the exciting vistas in Big Bend National Park, Texas. Getting to the canyon on this day is not so convenient, however, a walk through mud and thigh-high water. Here are two intrepid trekkers (among others evidently) up to the task.

From Wild South Florida -

One constant: the orange legs and feet (though brighter orange during nesting season). During the summer, ruddy turnstones feed on bugs, berries, seeds and moss. In winter, their tastes turn to seafood, with crustaceans, mollusks and small fish on the menu. They also eat bird's eggs, carion and garbage. Their summer diet is critical; they need to add fat to sustain them during their long migration or risk not making the trip at all.

Me - scrambling over a lava field to get the perfect photo - which of course turned out to be rubbish! Iceland

A Gala where I never should have been except as a working stiff....and proud of it.

Baby Leopard in Botswana's Okavango Delta. Shot handheld from a jeep. The mother was nearby watching and letting the baby take a few exploring steps.

Still hanging on after almost all the leaves are gone. I didn't notice them until the leaves fell off.

I like the background. The vines create a sense of motion.

" Fear is something present in our lives. Everyday. at any second. The answer is not to avoid it, but embrace it like it's part of you.

Only a part."

I am proud of this one...i really like this kind of portraits.

''Be brave.

Take risks.

Nothing can substitute experience''

I enjoyed watching the progress of this feathered friend at Sheboygan's North Point Thursday morning.

This little guy was one of four very healthy young masked lapwings currently taking over our little village lake. The coots have hatched out too. A great time of year!

Happy Wing Wednesday!
