CBC National TV van; reporter Melissa Fung along with camera man Aldo Columpsi shot a segement to be aired on December 6 at 10:00 p.m. Interviews included: Larry Turgeon and his Flax Manufacturing business, Mayor Rod Haugerud and the CSLP project focusing on the Eco-Centre, Shelley Rogers and students from the Craik School (no photos) to do with recycling, and Rod Haugerud and the straw bale home he is in the process of building (no photos).
I haven't made anything with the music I do/did. Finally a local promotion agency decides to feature me on their site and interview me. This is the highlight. Thought I'd share on flickr.

This is a photo of a job interview (not in situ because I don't have the time or know where to look to find a photo like this and am currently unemployed so I can't use my own workplace as an example). I chose this particular photo because it shows, visually, how assimilation into a company is done. The two interviewers on the far side of the table represent the collective interests of the company while the interviewee sitting closest to the photographer is the individual who is being assimilated. I think the number difference is important here. Since it isn't a one on one interview, it really drives the point home that this person is an outsider who is entering their workplace community. The assimilation process starts as soon as the interviewers start asking questions because they are ascertaining whether this individual can be assimilated into their work culture. If they can, they will get a call saying they've got the job. If the individual is too "out there" and shows signs of refusal to assimilate, they will be skipped in favor of the next candidate who shows greater aptitude towards at least compromising to their workplace codes.

Phillip (22), Formula 1 Motorsports Solutions Specialist: “In 2013 I began my apprenticeship as an electronics technician for devices and systems at RIEDEL. Since completing the program in 2017 I have been a Motorsports Solutions Specialist for the Alfa Romeo Sauber F1 team’s intercom and radio systems. At each race, I am initially responsible for the technical set-up of race control and all groups working in the pitlane. Then I set up and commission the communications system for Team Sauber. After that, my focus is on supporting the team and making sure everything runs smoothly. After each race, we immediately dismantle and pack our gear for the next race.
At RIEDEL, I particularly enjoy the friendly atmosphere – almost everyone knows each other – and the opportunity to travel around the globe.”
