The event honored beloved American icon, humanitarian role model and legendary entertainer, featuring rare clips, and a panel of friends, his daughter, colleagues and admirers in conversation.
This event also highlighted Christmas at the Paley and the release of the Christmas with Danny Kaye DVD special collection of classic holiday-themed episodes from his Emmy-winning variety series, The Danny Kaye Show (CBS, 1963-67). This is also the launch of The Danny Kaye Centennial, a year-long celebration filled with activities and events highlighting Kaye’s unique talents that brought laughter and joy to multiple generations. Once a month at my church, instead of preaching a sermon, I interview someone about their faith journey and spiritual life. Recently my congregation turned the tables on me and a member of the congregation interviewed me. I got to sit in the comfy pink chair for a change.

For Scavenge Challenge # 23 "costume yourself or a friend..." Hubby very graciously agreed to put on this "costume", a hat with old straggly grey hair and his Raybans and pretend to be...well, an aging rock star, Wayne from Wayne's World, a street person...just use your imagination!
CTCPA held its first-ever Interview Day on September 26, drawing 13 CPA firms who interviewed almost 50 students from 10 colleges around the state. The event grew from a strategic planning brainstorming session of the CTCPA Advisory Council last year.

Eckhart Tolle is considered one of the world's most influential spiritual teachers - a master of inner calm and peace. In a nutshell, he teaches that you are not your mind. In fact, Eckhart says, your mind is your worst enemy. It overtakes the real you and creates thoughts that make you miserable. So if you want to achieve peace, you've got to disassociate yourself from your mind. The key ? Live in the present. Eckhart sums it all up in his book 'The Power of Now.' He wrote it in Vancouver, where he now lives. The book came out in 1997 and has sold more than five million copies, thanks, in large part, to an on-air plug from Oprah. She's also a big fan of Eckhart's follow-up book, 'A New Earth.'
