I have seen many places in my life, gorgeous, wonderful, beautiful so on and so forth... very few have literally and figuratively made my jaw drop in amazement, this was one of them! The entire time I had to remember to close my wide open mouth, literally, pick up my jaw from the floor and then try to take a pic or two... fully realizing that even the best pics don't do this place justice! The interplay of man made objects and architecture, use of space and division with that of nature is just so subtle, sophisticated, clever and artful that it is just stunning. It made me realize what kind of stunning architecture, interior design and landscaping is the product of 5000+ years of practice in civilization! I have a new found respect for Chinese civilization. First was the movie "Curse of the Yellow Flower" which was an eye opener, now this was in 3D, in real life! Just amazing!
Lot of work on this, moreso that I had to do his mouth interrior and since I wasn't working with a laid down concept, I kept modifying the proportions and silhouttes constantly.Base mesh is 2,800 polys.Have him uv-yed and this paintover is still subject to change.
Thank God for study week!! Sometime to do some personal stuff I've so missed out on.
Late night back from Nottingham after grabbing a few beers and a social with a few mates.
Taken for Nottingham Flickr Group theme of the week #109 Through A Window.
Processed in B&W and purposely composed to be split between the inner of the train and the view from the window. I wanted to try and capture the reflection in the window of the train interrior too to create a more ghostly image out of the window.
