The Theatre Equipment Support Battalion recently held an Interoperability Exercise (IOX) at Camp Bastion, Afghanistan. It was a high profile event attended by UK, U.S, Danish, and Estonian participants and by members of the Afghan National Army (ANA).
The exercise demonstrated how vehicles are recovered during Combat Logistic Patrols (CLPs) in the event of breakdown, being bogged down or being disabled by enemy action. CLP’s are often a multi-national affair; hence the requirement to recover vehicles is essential. This exercise was an opportunity to demonstrate multi-national procedures and ensure compliance between the different nations.

Continuing EUROCONTROL's contribution to achieving greater ATM interoperability, an Agency delegation of experts, who have been actively involved in the ICAO Technical team and Challenge team, led by Bo Redeborn, Principal Director ATM, will be present at the 2012 ICAO Air Navigation Conference.
The goal of this global event is to bring the entire aviation community together with a view to defining the next steps towards a seamless global navigation system. The Single European Sky is just the beginning. The eventual aim remains a single global sky.
