El Ministerio de Transportes y Comunicaciones a través de ProInversión adjudicó hoy a Entel Perú, América Móvil Perú y Telefónica del Perú la Buena Pro de la banda 698 – 806 MHz, más conocida como la Banda 700 MHz que permitirá amplicar la disponibilidad del servicio de internet móvil en banda ancha con tecnología 4G, informó el ministro del sector, José Gallardo Ku.
Explicó que la Banda 700 MHz tiene ventajas para la prestación de servicios 4G en áreas rurales o zonas de baja densidad poblacional. Asimismo, refirió que por su buena penetración en edificaciones, permite atender la demanda en zonas urbanas, sobre todo en aquellas con alta densidad de edificios y construcciones.
“Esta banda permitirá atender a un menor costo la demanda de servicios móviles con internet de alta velocidad, especialmente en zonas urbanas periféricas, en donde la población se encuentra altamente dispersa”, destacó.
El proceso de promoción y concesión fue desarrollado por ProInversión, por encargo del Ministerio de Transportes y Comunicaciones (MTC). El bloque A se adjudicó la empresa Entel Perú S.A., porque ofertó US$ 290’206,123, superior al precio base de US$ 284.7 millones.
El bloque B se adjudicó la empresa América Móvil Perú S.A.C., al ofrecer US$ 306’000,001; y el bloque C la empresa Telefónica del Perú S.A.A., porque ofertó US$ 315’007,000. En ambos casos el precio base fue de US$ 284.7 millones.
En el proceso hubo cuatro empresas postoras, la cuarta fue la empresa Viettel Perú S.A.C. Gracias a este proceso el Estado recaudó US$ 911.2 millones por los tres bloques de la Banda 700 MHz.
En tal sentido, Gallardo Ku señaló que con la concesión de esta banda permitirá atender la demanda de zonas urbanas, sobre toda aquellas con alta densidad poblacional otorgándoles internet de alta velocidad, permitiendo atender las proyecciones de crecimiento del tráfico de datos.
Asimismo, indicó que permitirá a los adjudicatarios ofrecer a sus clientes servicio de Internet inalámbrico de banda ancha para un mercado que exige cada vez mayor velocidad para el acceso a datos, videos y aplicaciones como tele educación, tele medicina, etc.
Y a los usuarios se les permitirá tener un mejor servicio de internet, e incluso los operadores podrán ofrecer velocidades mayores a la exigidas en el contrato. En tanto, OSIPTEL será el encargado de supervisar el cumplimiento de éstas a través de mediciones periódicas.

Deboxing of the 5 dolls on the long bench: Rapunzel, Snow White, Vanellope, Aurora and Ariel. Their elbow joints have much greater range of movement than the 12 inch Classic Princess dolls. Their knee joints are internal, with 1 click forward, and 3 back. They can bend their knees back a full 90 degrees, so can sit up with their feet on the floor and their legs together. Ariel had her legs bent backward and splayed out awkwardly in the box pose. Her legs can't stay together right after I unboxed her, so I crossed her legs at the ankles. None of them can free stand, except for Vanellope. I will continue the deboxing shortly.
The Comfy Princess mini doll set. I bought it online when it was released on October 19. There are 12 Disney Princesses plus Vanellope, all wearing casual clothing. Some of them are also holding accessories. The Princesses are 6.5 inches tall and have neck, shoulder, elbow, hip and knee joints. They are far more posable and detailed the previous mini dolls from Disney Store or Disney Parks, which an inch shorter at 5.5 inches. These are more expensive as well, being about 8 dollars each. The set sold out the weekend it came out, came back and is now sold out again. I really love these dolls, even with their mostly goofy expressions.
I feel that they are worth $100, but of course $75 (due to a 25% off online sale) is a much better price. They really look almost as detailed as Classic 12 inch dolls, with much better hair styling, clothing and articulation than the old mini dolls. I especially like the improvement in their arms and legs.

The women of Mauritania; Tuareg, Moorish, etc. weave these decorative shells into their hair and clothing and for many years, have incorporated them into their traditional necklaces and jewelry.
Conus Shell Beads:
Originally a magical possession of the medicine man, the Conus shell acquired monetary value as it traveled from East Africa. It was introduced in Western Africa in the 16th century.
The beads were cut from the crest of the conical shells and then polished smooth, creating a spiral disc. Ornaments made from Conus were also believed to act as powerful charms, amulet and talisman found in Kenya, Tanzania, Zambia, DRC, Mali and Burkina Faso, etc. They also indicated the high status and wealth of their owners. All beads are in the collection of MBAD/ABA African Bead Museum.

CAMP ITAMI, Japan - Yama Sakura 69 stands as the latest iteration of one of the world’s largest bilateral command post exercises. More than a 1,000 American and Japanese service members stationed throughout the Pacific implement cutting edge technology to fight a fictitious foe threatening Japan’s sovereignty.
As sophisticated computer programs project scores of simulated battles on hundreds of screens, a small yet expertly trained group of U.S. Army Soldiers, Japan Ground Self-Defense Force (JGSDF) service members and Department of Defense civilians maintain and monitor a cohesive network that connects two Armies training across thousands of square miles.
Led by U.S. Army Japan, YS 69’s G6 section coordinates with its JGSDF counterparts to develop a reliable system that produces realistic training simulations while simultaneously establishing thousands of communication links that enable the countless phone calls, email messages and video teleconferences necessary to establish command and control of the virtual battlefield.
Since the team’s arrival in mid-November, G6 has overcome a myriad of challenges from internet connectivity to live video streaming to create a common operating picture that demonstrates the empowering partnership between the U.S. Army and JGSDF. Many members of the team will remain in Camp Itami in the days after the exercise's conclusion to repack equipment and reconfigure networks.
