2014.05.14 - Home. Working at home is wonderful. And though many would admit they wouldn't like to work at home, I love it and wouldn't want any other way. But it has its less positive issues, of course, being one of them the constant working mode with "just-another-email", and also because eventually work always wins regarding the domestic chores, even the ones that are pretty entertaining, such as decorating.

This past week I added a few turquoise and light blue accents to our living-room and I couldn't help in making a photo out of this arrangement on top of a 50's piece of furniture we have at home. The door print is my own and it matched perfectly with all the other accents!

or not, as we woke up to a very grey and rainy day. but i will be honest, i love it. it's good to be at home working by the window and looking outside at the rain falling.

and then comes the wool socks, the blankets, the candles... and the comfort of working from home.

happy monday you all!

Spring has sprung in Germany since a couple of days, in perfect calendar accordance & there is no doubt that having moved next to the woods is something that can be fully appreciated at this time of the year.

The new place is starting to get appreciated the way only time allows ~

Enjoyment of our own work has begun taking place, even if there is still so much to do ~

Undone, unfinished it may still be, but loved this house has already begun to be ~

As posting each picture separately here is time & effort consuming in ways that cannot be afforded at the moment, some individual shots made during these past few days in warm & cool light can be found here ~

Keeping the connection here with you after so long that we've been interacting is important, still there have to be adjustments made. I hope you enjoy as much visiting me over here!

Happy Monday & a great start in the new week!

general fireplace shot of festive lovliness...

Christmas decoration. embroidered tablecloth from my great-grandmother.

plates from ikea.

...one of the first things I did the morning when I woke up in Apartment 44, was to take my camera and follow the light around the place to take pictures!

I so adore this place not only because it is my parents new home since less than a year and our summer house for my partner & me, but mostly because it has been designed from scratch by me, being both an interior architect and a stylist.

Last summer and autumn were ones of the hardest of my life, as a lot of weight was carried on my shoulders and I was expected to balance my life between Greece and Germany.

The works had to and were actually finished in a relatively short period of time and all I remember is that I was running like crazy to coordinate workers, choosing, ordering and recieveing new things, let aside having to deal with "clients" who were not exactly positive and happy at that time...and of course let aside the fact that my life partner had to be mostly in Germany which was not exactly the best period for us.

This summer has found us all much happier, relaxed and pleased and am so, so incredibly greateful for that!

"hello" says Sparkle, the little green fellow inhabiting a mini & oh so pretty ceramic pot, a house warming present from a very dear friend...

The little house shaped blackboard plant marker has been found at a local shop & it totally screamed "Domestic Stories" when I saw it. So I brought home a few ;)

The picture was taken yesterday with later afternoon light in the winter garden & is hardly processed. The outcome came as a pleasant surprise.

Wishing you all a happy Wednesday ~
