I had the chance to go shoot an AMAZING home for an interior designer the other day. It was gorgeous!

Put multipurpose pieces to work. Use a trunk, chest or ottoman as a coffee table or storage unit.

This interesting mix of fabrics keys off the pattern Xerxes that portrays Mongolian horsemen in a playful print. We've married it with a jacquard ikat, a fretwork chenille, an ethnic cotton stripe and paisley patterns for visual interest. Textured chenille solids complete this scheme and coordinating trims add the perfect finishing touch.

Love old houses that have built in cabinets and drawers. This green is very calming too.

As part of the final project for Rendering class, we had to first design (in floor plan), then draw (pencil & ink), then pencil (color, materials), then do a final rendering (marker & colored pencil). This is from the third step; I liked how this came out better than the final, since I was in a rush with the final.

Behold . . . a door. And some drapes.

Dining room elevation, showing the door style to be used throughout the home and one wall treated with a woven wallcovering.

Paisley motifs and peacocks are pictured in the richly drawn Jewel Tower cotton print. It's complemented by the homespun Primative Stripe and the jacquard Looping Lines that would be perfect for a pillow or centered on a chair seat or back. Rounding out the mélange is a petite allover floral and a woven tissue-pick upholstery fabric, so called because of the dot of color picked up from the weft and because the French word for fabric is tissu.
