This image is an example of the grandeur of the interior architecture of Rijksmuseum. The Rijksmuseum, which in English means – The State Museum, is one of the most breathtaking museums in the world.
In 1800, the Amsterdam Rijksmuseum opened first its collection to the public as the Nationale Kunstgallerij (National Art Gallery). It moved several times before being established in Amsterdam (1808) by the decree of the King of the Netherlands Louis Bonaparte, brother of Napoleon.
In 1885 Rijksmuseum moved to this beautiful building, designed by the Dutch architect Petrus J.H. Cuypers, and built in the then fashionable Dutch neo-Renaissance style, using historical neo-Gothic elements in it form and decoration.
The unique position Rijksmuseumin Amsterdam gained in the world throughout the centuries, comes not only from the possession of many masterpiece paintings of Dutch and world art. Along the masterworks like Rembrandt’s “Night watch”, several paintings by Vermeer, van Dyck and Jan Steen, the museum has truly exceptional collection of the antique objects of the material Dutch culture, vast collection of prints, drawings and the classic photography.

I am constantly on the look out for new interior design ideas and use Flickr a lot to search for them (like the 10 cent designer). Thought I would give a little back by posting some shots I took last year at the Home/House Expo up in Vasa. Every year they build a new community of houses somewhere in Finland to show off the newest design and techniques within interior design and architecture. It is so popular that it is almost impossible to get a shot off without someone in the way. Here I posted the shots with the least number of bobble heads in the way.

The famous cathedral in Glasgow dates back to 1136, and much of the current structure is from the 13th century. It is dedicated to St. Mungo, whose tomb lies in the church. The ancient oak timbers of the medieval roof were replaced at the turn of the 20th century and the 'new' roof be seen in this interior shot. Glasgow, Scotland.

This was taken during the "golden hour" but I never expected to see such lighting. Apparently, the source is the yellow light in that illuminated advertisement center left.

The Sultan mosque, which is also known as 'Masjid Sultan', was first built in 1824 for the first sultan of Singapore, Sultan Hussein Shah. It was rebuilt in 1932 to the present mosque seen in the photo. The mosque is a popular place of visit among tourist.

Interior of the Saadian Tombs in Marrakech. Think you may need a wide angle lens to capture the entire height of this space, as well as peace and solitude - there was a whole queue of tourists behind me, in the narrow and stuffy passage, all waiting for their turn to take photographs of the place. My camera struggled with the dim lighting conditions too.
