Revisited. The subway station "Westfriedhof" (Western Cemetery) on the border between the districts of Moosach and Neuhausen-Nymphenburg, along lines U1/U7.

Pretty popular photo location for obvious reasons...

The blue walls (remainders of the slurry wall that was used during construction) and the 11 huge lamps of 3.80 m diameter each give a very special atmosphere. The lamps do have yellow, red and blue lights, so each section has a slightly different atmosphere.

I moved overseas a couple of times with work - sometimes you strike lucky, and sometimes you strike very lucky.

We managed to bag the rental of this just-refurbished 100 year old apartment in the Champel district of Geneva which came with original parquet floors, French-style doors, and what I seem to remember as a 12 foot curtain drop. The lift too was in the old open French style. We were lucky because plenty of Swiss were hankering after it, but the owner clearly decided the company I worked for had deeper pockets and would be a better credit risk.

This was taken in 2005 - not too long before we would up sticks again and move to the US Deep South. So out went the smart suits and ties, and in came the short sleeves and khaki slacks - much more my style.

Inevitably you adapt your lifestyle to a new environment and I did miss a lot of things about Switzerland, yet oddly the most enduring one was my daily commute on the number 3 trolley bus.

All credit to Mrs H for dressing the room.

Sorry, no trains in this one.

Had to leave my Nikon for some repair and this is the ceiling in the lobby where the repair company is. Isn’t that light fixture gorgeous?

mcminneman's restoration

tacoma, washington

The Waux-Hall in Spa is an entertainment venue, encompassing a ballroom, concert hall, and bar, inaugurated in 1770. Located outside the town center at the intersection of the main roads leading to the fountains, the Waux-Hall is one of the oldest gambling halls in Europe. A vast building with harmonious proportions, it is the work of the Liège architect Jacques-Barthélemy Renoz. The building, listed as a monument since July 24, 1936, has been included on the Walloon Government's list of exceptional heritage since 1993. The first phase of restoration work focused on the exterior of the Waux-Hall: the facades and perimeter walls, with the roofs having been repaired in 1987-1988. Construction began in March 2006 and was completed at the end of 2009. The planning permit for the second phase (restoration and interior design, landscaping) was obtained on April 14, 2022. The intended use is that of a business club. The ground floor is expected to house the club's regular activities as well as a restaurant, while the upper floor would be used for prestigious events (concerts, receptions, conferences, etc.).

I hope I am not the only one who is happy that summer is coming to an end. This summer was exceptionally HOT where I live. I am not a fan of the heat. I also think I can speak for just about anyone when I say, we are close to another season and year ending. I am super excited for autumn and all that is autumn in Second Life. It is not only my favorite season in RL but here also. Sweaters and jeans, boots and leggings and all the autumn colors that come with it.

This land was a piece i have been working on for the last week or so. I decorate when I need to just let go of RL and the things that are bothering me.

I went to the L2 Studio sim for a bit of inspiration when I wanted to compliment Miss Lindini Lane on her choices of Decor. Simply adore her shabby chic style. I happened to come upon this build; The Writers Shed. I have been to this sim many times and I had never seen it. So happy I had because it was so lovely to decorate. Not only that, Miss Lane was so gracious, she offered it to me as a gift ♥ So thank you again for your generous gift!

You might be able to tell, the inside is packed full of amazing decor. While this home is small, it is fabulous to decorate for any person who loves decor as much as me.

There are a few items I would like to spotlight. TBF- The Black Forest is in this round of Cosmopolitan with an amazing set. I especially like the Kerosene Lamp, it comes with different options as well as being able to carry it with a bento pose. Check out this item and the others he has just inside the entrance this round starting Monday September the 7th.

There also may be a few items listed that you can't see. This is because a lot of them might be in the garden shed or just inside the home. I will try to sift them out before I post, just know I did the best I can ♥

A full inventory of items is listed below, enjoy! ♥
