My main tasks include system planning, commissioning, trade show support, and training for our customers, freelancers, and employees. Also, I am the link to the Product Managers for the sales and systems consulting teams in regard to questions relevant to intercom. What appeals to me most about my work are the varied activities, dealing with people from all over the world and learning about their cultures, and the ability to work with our latest and greatest products.”

After the power plant and the cooling tower, here come pictures of the offices, including the baths, cafeteria as well as workshops. And, a little farther, a former Intercom coal distributor (big metallic structure).

EARLY DUKANE INTERCOM
STATION-TO-STATION OPERATION
The first intercoms used at White Sands Proving Ground were Langevin units, high-level, high-output (90 volts) intercoms for open-wire lines and field wire, needed to send signals a long distance (for instance, from main post to Rhodes Canyon). It also operated over circuits that had been broken by vehicle mishaps or missile impact.
Around 1955, the Langevin was replaced by the Dukane intercoms. These units were installed at most range locations and were equipped with headsets or hand mikes.
