Street scene from the Streets of San Francisco - dogs with cameras caught my eye. Art work by Gillie & Mark paparazzi dogs - this exhibit has traveled from multiple international locations.
This is a multiple exposure piece taken from MOMA. In one exposure, there is a room filled with bullet balloons, symbolizing a brief relief of pain. These balloons float around and linger. Sometimes, they know you are calling their name. Other times, they are stand offish and stay by themselves in the corner. As in the case of the art by Félix González-Torres, the installation is interactive and the second exposure features a photographer who had his lens pointed in my direction holding a Magic Bullet. This piece is by General Idea, a Canadian art collective. Two of the artists died of AIDS in 1994. Such a sadness.

I believe the children are our future
Teach them well and let them lead the way
Show them all the beauty they possess inside
Give them a sense of pride to make it easier
Let the children's laughter remind us how we used to be
Everybody searching for a hero
People need someone to look up to
I never found anyone who fulfill my needs
A lonely place to be
And so I learned to depend on me
I decided long ago
Never to walk in anyone's shadows
If I fail, if I succeed
At least I'll live as I believe
No matter what they take from me
They can't take away my dignity
Because the greatest love of all
Is happening to me
I found the greatest love of all
Inside of me
The greatest love of all
Is easy to achieve
Learning to love yourself
It is the greatest love of all
I believe the children are our future
Teach them well and let them lead the way
Show them all the beauty they possess inside
Give them a sense of pride to make it easier
Let the children's laughter remind us how we used to be
I decided long ago
Never to walk in anyone's shadows
If I fail, if I succeed
At least I'll live as I believe
No matter what they take from me
They can't take away my dignity
Because the greatest love of all
Is happening to me
I found the greatest love of all
Inside of me
The greatest love of all
Is easy to achieve
Learning to love yourself
Is the greatest love of all
And if, by chance, that special place
That you've been dreaming of
Leads you to a lonely place
Find your strength in love
Greatest Love of All

An immersive, interactive art installation on the Rockefeller Plaza by artists Wade and Leta. You can enter the maze like installation and turn the colored pieces which are mirrored on the other side. It was strangely deserted when I visited - I mean really people mirrors = selfies and no one was there. But then maybe the nearby dinosaur captured their attention.
Los Trompos (The Tops) by Esrawe + Cadena installed in Damrosch Park at Lincoln Center.
The installation consists of 8 giant three dimensional spinning tops. Recalling the toys that many children played with - visitors are encouraged to sit, play and interact with the sculptural pieces.
From the website: each sculpture acts as a piece of art and a gathering place for relaxation, social interaction, and entertainment.

This is a repost of candid in downtown Vancouver in 2014.
The following is the original story posted.
Descartes said, "I think therefore I am" (Cogito ergo sum).
In the 21st century of social media and digital photography, this is changed to "I shoot therefore I am".

We've apparently learnt nothing.
Electroboutique software and internet art group had an exhibition at the London Science Museum.
The group is headed by Alexei Shulgin (b: 1963) and Aristarkh Chernyshev (b: 1969). Both are now Professors at the Rodchenko Art School, Moscow.
The exhibition consists of software and internet art objects, (products), slogans and texts.
The objects and installations are interactive and play with our perceptions. They promise a lot – each looking like a designer object – yet fail to deliver: they’re really about criticizing our consumerist society.
This particular wall piece was large at over 1.5 m diameter. The glasses featured screens playing videos, plus also filming passers by.

A moment suspended between motion and stillness - where artifical waterfalls meet urban rhythms. In this modern transit space, light dances through cascading water while life flows past in streaks of color and time. The future feels tangible here, illuminated in blue and gold.
A must-visit on my day-trip to Chicago, this interactive work of public art and video sculpture has become a highly popular Windy City attraction since it was unveiled in 2004. It is the work of Catalan artist Jaume Plensa and features the images of everyday Chicagoans, totalling over 1,000 faces. At the end of each five-minute cycle, water spines out of the screen, seemingly from the person’s mouth,
