These are photos taken on my trip to Europe and the UK with a girl friend in October to November 2012. My camera I had then wasn't good with low light so some of these shots are not great but I have put them as my memories of the trip.
Our Friend took us to Stourhead for a look around the gardens. It had been snowing the morning but cleared in the afternoon. It was bitterly cold. Well worth the visit.
Stourhead is a 1,072-hectare estate at the source of the River Stour in the southwest of the English county of Wiltshire, extending into Somerset.
The lake at Stourhead is artificially created. Following a path around the lake is meant to evoke a journey similar to that of Aeneas's descent in to the underworld. In addition to Greek mythology, the layout is evocative of the "genius of the place", a concept expounded by Alexander Pope. Buildings and monuments are erected in remembrance of family and local history. Henry Hoare was a collector of art; one of his pieces was Claude Lorrain's Aeneas at Delos, which is thought to have inspired the pictorial design of the gardens. Passages telling of Aeneas's journey are quoted in the temples surrounding the lake.

Portrays the way that most of us, human beings, live life. The majority of us are just bodies that inhabit the planet earth. We, simply, live in between. Between the desire to ascend, to be what we always aimed for but, now, are afraid of not being capable of and to not meet the expectations that we set ourselves. Thus, we decide to seize to something safe, that doesn’t make us happy.
On the other side, there is the darkest part, the one where no one wants to let themselves fall because probably they won’t come back from it. In it, reside the fears, the more deepest feelings, all that we camouflaged. All that we left to deal with later, was purposely left to sink deeper and deeper, in the hope we wouldn’t have to dive into them again.
So, we decided to live in between both worlds, one that we always wished for and the other that we never even want to experience. We go through life walking in the middle, just and only, existing.
As I post this, we're all going mad for 43102 on the Midland Main Line in it's retro Inter City Swallow livery (me included), but perhaps I need to remind myself that this livery is one livery I am not short of pictures of.

London Bridge is a well known, hollowed out sea stack that can be viewed from a lookout at the end of London Bridge Road, Portsea, Mornington Peninsula. On either side of London Bridge are two high tide platform beaches, backed by 30 to 40 m high calcarenite bluffs and fronted by continuous inter-tidal rock flats, with reefs further offshore. Waves average 1.7 m on the outer reefs, with their height at the beach depending on the tide. The narrow sand beaches are awash at high tide, but fronted by exposed rock flats at low tide. It is located approximately 60 km (37 mi) south of the Melbourne CBD, on the opposite side of Port Phillip Bay. (Sourced from internet)
Looking beyond the horizon is Bass Strait. Took this image on a fine Spring evening. At low tide, the sea was relatively calm. Instead of the usual onrushing big waves, there were ripples and swells. There were just enough wandering clouds to enlighten the otherwise ordinary sunset.

Plan is to slowly drop photos from my Nashville trip, where I took many. I won't be dressed fully again for a while, so this should help me keep it fresh! Loved that purse! And the Nails! Oh, my. I was just getting used to doing things with them - buttoning, unbuttoning, typing, texting, and more, when I had to remove them for back to male life. I had so many compliments on them, I am wondering if at some time, a shorter version might be acceptable. And I loved that purple coat, especially in that cold Nashville weather!
