The "Teaching Window" is dedicated to George Boole and depicts his favourite passage from the Bible - "The Calling of Samuel". Funds for the window were raised by his friends in Lincoln and the content was suggested by his wife.
Underneath the window is a plaque that reads: "In memory of George Boole, Dr of Laws, of Lincoln. A man of acute intellect and manifold learning, who, being especially exercised in the severer sciences, diligently explored the recesses of mathematics and happily illuminated them by his writings. He was carried off by an untimely death in 1864."
George's father John Boole's grave is located to the southeast of the cathedral. He was one of George's main influencers as he grew up. “George Boole, the father of the modern electronic world we live in today
George boole jnr was born on silver street in lincoln on November 2nd 1815 and died December 8th 1864 was a self taught mathematician, philosopher and most importantly to us living now a locigian, boole is the man responsible for the creation of the and or not gates used in circuits and computing
In the last 17 years of his life he had established the concept of algebraic logic in mathematics, and simplified the world down to basic statements with either a yes or no answer, for which he used binary arithmetic. "The respective interpretations of the symbols 0 and 1 in the system of logic are Nothing and Universe," he said. It was a concept he first introduced in 1847, and expanded on in 1854. But even now, 150 years after his death, it's used in computer programs

All data on computer systems is stored as code either 0's or 1's this we know is binary code, this is all a computer needs its either yes voltage or no voltage so plus or not compared to the that that we use 0-9, these yes voltage or no voltage signals create logic gates, these gates are what makes computer chips work the way that they do it makes them programmable therefore useful to us
George lived from November 2nd 1815 until December 8th 1964 which creates a span of 2,562 weeks, the number 256 is a number that is very important in our world because not only is it part of light coding but it is also part of computer coding as bits of information 256 bits, the first high definition gaming console to use 256 bits was the xbox 360

With lincoln being the birthplace of George boole it's only fitting that the city celebrates him as one of the most important people that has ever lived, a son of the city, and the literal creator of our modern computerised world, within Lincoln cathedral he is celebrated, he gas one windown dedicated to him by his wife after his death in 1864 from pleural effusion on 12/8-1864 he was 49 years old and contracted his pleural effusion whilst walking to give a lecture to students in the rain, the window was installed in 1869 and is know as the teaching window, it was actually katie that read his name on the window and then our tour guide obviously highlighted him a little during our tour

George was born in 1815 and became a teacher aged just 16 years old (16 bits) and went on to found two schools in his lifetime in the city
George boole had attended his first class aged just 2 years old and by the time he was 19 he was lecturing in Lincoln on another famous local Isaac Newton. His passion for education and learning led him to found two schools in the city one in Free School Lane in 1834 and one at Pottergate in 1840? Neither exist today, but a plaque can be seen at the site of the Boarding School for Young Gentlemen on Pottergate, he was responsible for lots of mathematical theories in his life but he made it very clear that this is what he wished to be remembered for

The latter sometimes symbolizes the god alone, as the white bull Nandi can do for his father Shiva. The two complement each other: the elephant, massive, powerful, and thoughtful, and the rat, small, mobile, and mischievous, thus have all the assets necessary to solve the world's problems.
