From two to one to two again, these cables stay true to each other and themselves. Each strand faithfully returns to its beginnings after exploring the expanse around it for a time.

This slouchy hat is worked from the bottom up in the round. Flip the brim for a beanie fit. Cable work is charted. Pattern is recommended for knitters with prior experience cabling. Featuring Magpie Fibers Swanky Sock in Tidepool

I wanted to reroot a Stormer with a thatched fringe, and longer hair--the same length as Kimber's. I didn't do the greatest job ever with the thatching (or the styling), but I do love her longer, wavy, more cartoon-like hair!

The lake had been empty on our trip out to Isle Royale, but we had to duck through traffic on our way back in. We slipped behind this big lakes freighter headed east, probably for Duluth. This is the American Integrity, which the internet says is one of only thirteen thousand-foot-long ships operating as part of the Great Lakes fleet. This same web site says the ship is 988 feet long, which suggests they play a little loose with their definition of a thousand feet. The ship was built in 1978 and originally operated under the name Lewis Wilson Foy, but it's had its name changed twice. It's been owned by the American Steamship Company since 2006.

Want to know where it is right now? You can track it here. As I type this, it's headed up the St. Mary River into the Soo Locks between Huron and Superior. So it will probably pass by Copper Harbor and the Keweenaw Peninsula in another six or eight hours.

Amazing detail for this modern outfit. Look at the lace, the jewels and the purse, and the boots...Wow!
