L'oeuvre monumentale éphémère d'Arne Quinze " The Passenger", érigée tout près de la Grand-Place de Mons en ouverture du projet culturel "Mons 2015, Capitale européenne de la Culture" a été entièrement démontée à partir du 12 avril 2021.
"Pour l'artiste, le vide créé par l'oeuvre une fois enlevée fait partie intégrante de sa démarche artistique", a indiqué la Fondation Mons 2025. "Le vide est comme un point de départ d'une nouvelle façon de penser à la manière de rendre nos espaces publics plus diversifiés". Comme annoncé lors de sa conception, les composants de "The Passenger" seront recyclés: le bois utilisé dans la structure sera transformé en pâte à papier et les vis seront récupérées.
The structure, 80 meters long and 16 meters high, is made up of some 35,000 wooden planks of all colors.
The ephemeral monumental work of Arne Quinze "The Passenger", erected near the Grand-Place in Mons at the opening of the cultural project "Mons 2015, European Capital of Culture" has been completely dismantled from April 12, 2021.
"For the artist, the void created by the work once removed is an integral part of his artistic approach," said the Mons 2025 Foundation. "The void is like a starting point for a new way of thinking about the way of making our public spaces more diversified ". As announced during its design, the components of "The Passenger" will be recycled: the wood used in the structure will be transformed into paper pulp and the screws will be recovered.

An integral part of the mansion in Rogalin, founded by Kazimierz Raczynski in the 1770s, is the garden and the park. Next to the palace, on the western side, lies the rococo garden, a Baroque composition which fulfils its original objective, entre cour et jardin (between the courtyard and the garden). The parterre garden is dotted with conically shaped thuja trees surrounded by rows of ball shaped lindens. At the western edge, the garden is completed by a mound known as Parnassus, from where once stretched a panorama of Warta meadows, which is now obscured by tall trees. The garden is framed by rows of clipped hornbeams. Amongst them at the height of the mound, are oval (garden) cabinets. The composition of the garden is complemented by stone vases and Rococo statues of mythological deities.

ONE INTEGRAL WHOLE
I'm the whole humanity,
I breathe through every chest!
We never build anything without having an image of the future. We have to imagine the future, but at the same time be guided by real premises related to the imagined picture. We have to take examples from nature, its globality and integrality, and build our future society according to them.
The entire complex of problems that has risen before humanity indicates the need to solve these problems conjointly. Today there is not a single problem that is local. Nature is pushing us to become aware of our total interdependence. The globalization that is being revealed is forcing us to suppress our national and regional interests, and to prefer the solution of the global, common problems first.
The need for integration for the sake of all humanity requires a constant dialogue among representatives of every country on an equal basis. In a single organism, all of the parts are equal. Every side presents the problems it deems necessary to solve and the importance of every problem is weighed conjointly, like in a family that discusses which problem should be solved first and in what order the others should be solved. Only by accepting the fact of the global interconnection as a primary condition will we develop the right approach to solving problems.
Otherwise, we will involuntarily slide down to war, which is a refusal to have a dialogue. These aren’t necessarily “hot” or even “cold” wars, but an unnoticeable, centralized, informational influence on people’s consciousness in a specific country with the aim of distorting their picture of the world, their traditional concepts and values. The sensation of this informational weapon’s effect can range from emotional discomfort and insecurity, to a disturbance of the basic infrastructure.
Of course, in any case, whether we develop along a good scenario or a bad one, we will still reach an integrally interconnected society because it is the goal of nature’s development. Humanity’s aspiration to unity is a natural expression of a living system. But this natural process cannot be accelerated artificially. It has to happen consciously and voluntarily because otherwise it will turn into a project that is forcefully executed by the authorities.

ESA’s Integral space observatory has been orbiting Earth for 15 years, observing the ever-changing, powerful and violent cosmos in gamma rays, X-rays and visible light. Studying stars exploding as supernovas, monster black holes and, more recently, even gamma-rays that were associated with gravitational waves, Integral continues to broaden our understanding of the high-energy Universe.
This image visualises the orbits of the spacecraft since its launch on 17 October 2002, until October of this year.
Integral travels in a highly eccentric orbit. Over time, the closest and furthest points have changed, as has the plane of the orbit. The orbit brought it to within 2756 km of Earth at its closest, on 25 October 2011, to 159 967 km at the furthest, two days later.
This kind of orbit provides long periods of uninterrupted observations with nearly constant background away from the radiation belts around Earth that would otherwise interfere with the satellite’s sensitive measurements.
In 2015, spacecraft operators conducted four thruster burns carefully designed to ensure that the satellite’s eventual entry into the atmosphere in 2029 will meet the Agency’s guidelines for minimising space debris. Making these disposal manoeuvres so early also minimises fuel usage, allowing ESA to exploit the satellite’s lifetime to the fullest.
The orbital changes introduced during these manoeuvres are seen in the wide-spaced orbits to the left of the image, highlighted in white in this annotated version of the image.

When I logged on today, I saw someone flying around Fort Stygian on an airbike, i pulled out my binoculars and it turned out to be Integral Danton (aka Warren Ellis) the author of Freakangels!!

HEPTAGON, il nuovo progetto del leader Carlo Cantini al Violino e i compagni di un viaggio che non vuole finire, Fiorenzo Delegà al Basso, Pietro Benucci alla Batteria e Percussioni, con il ritorno del Pianista Mario Lino Rossi, è la conseguenza inevitabile di un percorso musicale che non ha mai smesso di pulsare nelle menti dei quattro.
- Una musica trasversale che raccoglie ogni esperienza affermando il principio per il quale non esistono limiti allo sviluppo di positive e inusitate soluzioni. La generosità e la voglia di sperimentare, in un brain storming musicale sistematico e costante, sono la quintessenza che anima questo principio basilare.
Che cosa è la musica contemporanea se non un "fare propositivo" che evolve per definizione intrinseca? Occorre certamente essere coraggiosi e "spudorati".
Il tentativo è doveroso.
Di questo parla il nuovo progetto, dedicato nei titoli alle certezze strabilianti della Matematica universale, quella che regola l'Universo almeno secondo il punto di vista terrestre. E l'Universo musicale ne è parte integrante. Un approccio preciso, filosofico. -
’Heptagon’ conferma un divenire accertato, dove le prerogative espresse agli inizi di questa lunga esperienza musicale valgono universalmente: libertà di espressione individuale senza alcun vincolo se non quello dell'eleganza che ne scaturisce. I temi partono da un’ispirazione concreta e sono eseguiti all'unisono, ma in ogni senso.
Una nota particolare va al brano Ground Zero www.youtube.com/watch?v=owpXqIfz1uY , il cui titolo si riferisce alla situazione terribile di immobilità per larga parte dei musicisti durante la pandemia mondiale . Un invito a non demordere anche se si è ‘a terra’ con un’esperienza musicale allargata, coinvolgendo tanti musicisti, il più possibile. Un punto zero cartesiano…

HEPTAGON, the new project by Carlo Cantini on the Violin and his companions on a journey that doesn’t want to end, Fiorenzo Delegà on the Bass, Pietro Benucci on Drums and Percussion, along with the return of the Pianist Mario Lino Rossi, is the inevitable consequence of a musical voyage that has never stopped pulsing in the minds of all four.
- A transversal music that collects every experience affirming a principle to which there are no limits in the development of positive and unusual solutions. Generosity and the desire to experiment, in a systematic, constant musical brain storming, are the substance that animates this basic principle.
What is the substance of contemporary music if not a ‘proactive response’ that evolves by intrinsic definition? It is certainly necessary to be courageous and "brazen". The attempt is essential.
The new project talks about this, dedicated in the titles to the amazing certainties of universal mathematics, that governs the Universe at least from the terrestrial point of view. The Musical Universe is an integral part of it. A precise, philosophical approach. -
Ground Zero experience (video)
HEPTAGON confirms a certain becoming, where the prerogatives expressed at the beginning of this long musical experience are universally valid: freedom of individual expression without any constraint other than that of the resulting elegance. The themes start from a concrete inspiration and are performed in unison, but in every sense.
A particular note goes to the song Ground Zero. The title of which refers to the terrible situation of immobility for a large part of the musicians during the world Covid pandemic. An invitation not to give up even if you are ‘on the ground’ with an extended musical experience, involving as many musicians as possible.

Carlo Cantini Quartet (Electric Arc)
The origins of the Helsingborg fortress is disputed but Danish legend places its origin to the reign of the legendary King Fróði. However, this legend has not been supported by archaeological proof. Dendrochronological dating has shown that the core was built in the 1310s, when Eric VI of Denmark was King of Denmark. It was considered the most important fortress in Denmark, and was integral in securing control over the strait between Scania and Zealand.
It was surrendered to Sweden along with the rest of Skåneland as part of the Treaty of Roskilde in 1658. The fortress was retaken by Danish forces in 1676 during the Scanian War, and its capture celebrated by flying a giant Flag of Denmark above it. This flag was later captured by the Swedish army and is preserved in the Army Museum (Armémuseum) in Stockholm. The fortress returned to Swedish control by the Treaty of Lund in 1679. Charles XI of Sweden ordered most of it demolished fearing that it was too exposed to a sneak attack from Denmark. The only thing that was saved for posterity was the old medieval tower core. The tower continued to serve as a landmark for shipping through Øresund.
