Optical instruments - Smile on Saturday

Muchas gracias a todos por sus visitas, comentarios y favoritas... Saludos amigos...!!!

From the left hand side to the back then front right, these are the Thai classical instruments these children use:

Saw Sam Sai (Three Stringed fiddle) ( ซอสามสาย ) – it is a traditional bowed string instrument made from a special type of coconut covered on one end with animal skin. Musician playing Saw Sam Sai’ mostly sits at the front row of the ensemble.

Thai Ramwong Drum ( รำวง )– It is super heavty solid carved shell with beautiful wood grain and nice lacquer finish. It is easily tunable without tools by adjusting the ropes.

Ching ( ฉิ่ง ) and Chap ( ฉาบ ) – this is the tupe of metal percussion looks like mini cymbals made of an alloy. Ching comes in pair of bowl shape cymbals. Chap is more flat and thinner.

Ja Khe ( จะเข้ ) – is made of wood in a stylised alligator shape with three strings laying along the instruments. Two strings are made of silk yarn or nylon and the other strings is made of brass, It has raised frets made of bamboo, which are affixed to the fretboard. The body is made of soft wood trees such as jackfruit.

Traditional music can help people understand a country better. It represents the history, traditions and thoughts of a community you are in.

As for yourself, of course, either you are playing or learning to play any instruments can be seen as very therapeutic. It can raise your mood and make you calm or relaxed.

Have a wonderful day ahead!

We have a Christmas tradition we call ‘stocking fillers’. Small not very expensive gifts are bought for each other. This is one such from Mrs S. Is she suggesting something?

Mess- und Regeltechniken waren immer schon von hoher Bedeutung in der Schwerindustrie. Hier zu sehen sind alte Thermo- und Manometer in der Gebläsehalle der Henrichshütte Hattingen, heute ein Museum.

Techniques of measurement had always been very important in the heavy industry. Here you can see old thermometers and manometers in the blower hall of the blast furnace plant Henrichshütte Hattingen, Germany.

Stringed instrument. Has eight strings, but the Laowa lens focuses so closely that I went with this. You might be able to see a blur of the next string, but not the peg.

Inspired by MacroMondays. But not satisfied with this. Might do another…

In January 2022 I asked a Flickr support hero to remove my accounts from the Explore algorithm. Peace. I hope you know that when I comment I mean it sincerely—not to achieve the Explore algorithm requirement.

Feeling nervous about the new year, the little man tries to stop the clock…

As we head into the new year, I wish for health and happiness for you and your loved ones.

Let’s keep lifting one another up, sharing kindnesses and support, understanding that every one of us is valuable and has something important to share.

Let’s remember that together we shine so much brighter, a beacon of light and hope that reminds us and others that we are one.

Let’s keep offering one another a hand when we fall down, giving each other a little nudge when we get stuck, realizing we’re all on the same team.

Let’s keep learning, listening, encouraging, connecting, growing, inspiring, and creating.

Stay confident. Stay strong. And don’t let anything stop you from blazing your trail.

Happy New Year, everyone!

Too much Bad Panda today.

at the Ashmolean Museum, Oxford. It looked a bit like a violin, but it has 6 strings, and is absolutely beautiful! AS you can tell, I don't know much about these things...and there was not enough time to find the appropriate information as we had to get to a Carol Service.....

The supreme art of war is to subdue the enemy without fighting.

Sun Tzu

War is only a cowardly escape from the problems of peace.

Thomas Mann

The most shocking fact about war is that its victims and its instruments are individual human beings, and that these individual beings are condemned by the monstrous conventions of politics to murder or be murdered in quarrels not their own.

Aldous Huxley

War does not determine who is right - only who is left.

Bertrand Russell

I am tired and sick of war. Its glory is all moonshine. It is only those who have neither fired a shot nor heard the shrieks and groans of the wounded who cry aloud for blood, for vengeance, for desolation. War is hell.

William Tecumseh Sherman

I will not play tug o' war. I'd rather play hug o' war. Where everyone hugs instead of tugs, Where everyone giggles and rolls on the rug, Where everyone kisses, and everyone grins, and everyone cuddles, and everyone wins.

Shel Silverstein

The first casualty when war comes is truth.

Hiram Johnson

If it's natural to kill, how come men have to go into training to learn how?

Joan Baez

For the composition Culorile Verii I used three instruments, piano, violin and cello. I considered them to be the most suitable for creating this composition. Thanks to everyone who appreciates my work!
