'Roid Week 2010 Last Day.

A second hand dealer was closing out and asked me if I wanted the camera because they couldn't sell it, so I said sure...became the first camera in my small collection.

I was told this camera was pulled off the market because Polaroid had the patent and Kodak did not.

The only "proper" graffiti in one of those suburban laneways with endless tags without meaning and more McDonalds rubbish than you would believe. A lovely part of Sydney where people really don't seem to care.

got this at a Goodwill a few years ago for $4.75, it came with 2 packs of Spectra film.

this camera uses sonar to autofocus. has "Lighter/Normal/Darker" exposure switch on the back. uses Polaroid Spectra film, also called Polaroid 1200 film or Polaroid Image film.

the price tag from 8/31/1990 says $99.37.

here are some of the specs from the box:

- 125mm Quintic lens and precise 10-zone autofocus; close-up photographs 2' to infinity.

- Push-in film pack contains fresh battery for flash, motorized picture ejection, automatic film advance.

- Uses a variety of filters for special effects and picture enhancement.

- Built-in autoflash; range 2-14 feet.

- 100% Field of view viewfinder.

i prefer this camera to the 600 i have, it doesn't hurt that the Spectra prints are larger than the 600 prints, and you can get the film for half the price of 600 film.

first instant camera I ever bought, of course I will never use this as the films like£35 for 10 which would all be expired anyway? although I really love this camera✌️

Car boot sale purchase this morning. What a huge camera! I didn't know anything about it but I sort of liked the look of it and for 50p I couldn't resist. Don't know whether film is still available or, if it is, affordable.

Thought I'd live up to my username and post some of my Polaroid pictures now that I ACTUALLY HAVE A POLAROID WOOO!! I also have like a billion Instax pictures I should post, too, one day.

Please see the camera-wiki article on Kodak instant cameras. "Ektron" branding for the flash units, used earlier, is avoided here in favor of "instant flash."

Of course Kodak's whole instant-camera effort was headed for trouble.

I purchased this circa-1973 SX-70 from ShopGoodwill but it arrived damaged. I sent it to Matt Widmann at 2nd Shot SX70 who did a great job fixing it up.
