This is the view of the Polaroid Square Shooter instant camera found on the inside cover of the manual. Back in the late 1970's, I used to have one of these and took some pictures with it. But, I never got to photograph it.
I'm compiling a photo album of every camera I ever owned and then below each camera, a picture taken with that camera. So, for the few cameras I don't still have and can't get a photograph of, I'm having to be creative to come up with an image of each one. I'm thinking of using this picture for the old one I used to have. I found one on an auction site last year for only .99 cents and it had the case, manual, some flash bulbs and looked like new. I'm hoping to take some images with the new one somehow, without using instant film, (which they don't make for this camera anymore), but I don't want to use a picture of the new camera to represent my old one.
Well, that's the way it goes.
Here a quick (more or less 15 minutes shooting) series of shot with a very appreciated gift from Meminesis/ ! A Heerbrugg Wild... it is a Polaroid camera to be used on a microscope, but obviously there is no microscope here... it seem to be a sort of long lens probably working at F16 or F22 (or even more) with fixed focus on twenty meters or more when not used on its microscope... it has a periscope reflex viefinder mounted inside the lens and a leaf shutter with speeds from T/B, 1 second up to 1/125, when you want to use this big strange camera you need to use it like a sort of periscope, so I think iut is really great for street photography in full light.
One other thing is that it is clearly a modification of some Polaroid land camera, same back, clearly. But the back is a mess, with some deformations so it allows some curious light leaks to happen... what a camera... thank you a lot Meminesis/ ! ;-)

Eu sempre quis uma Polaroid, mas sempre que achava alguma com um preço ok ia dar uma olhada no filme e quase caí para trás: 100 dilmas um pacotinho com 10 filmes? NO WAY JOSE!

Another architectural photo to complement one I took earlier. However, I did take this way back in September, I'd somehow forgotten I had this stashed away. It was taken in a courtyard at the Ferguson Center on CNU's campus.
I "discovered" this camera a few months ago in a random drawer. It didn't work, but the little battery icon flashed on the LCD. So yesterday I bought a battery and a roll of film for it. Turns out, there was a half-used roll of film already in it, from some untold number of years ago. I finished it off, and am hopeful that maybe something on it will turn out. Who knows what works of art have been lurking in a drawer all this time?
I found a manual for it online -- this little powerhouse has a 38-115mm zoom lens, listed as f4.3 to f12.2!!! at the long end. No way to manually adjust exposure, although it does have an infinity setting for landscapes and a fill flash setting.

As I was walking to my final class of the day I spotted a man off in the distance. As I got closer I found that along with his presence were his three Dachshunds and a Nikon DSLR. Intrigued by the sight I stopped and proposed I take his photo. He kindly said yes and I proceeded with my AE-1, telling him "My camera's a little different than yours, I shoot film". We began chatting and I got his name to find on Flickr. I also went on to tell him that I also shoot with Polaroids. After stating that he loved Polaroid, I grabbed for my SX-70 and unfolded this iconic camera and captured a frame with it while he shot a frame of me. After all, it wouldn't be a successful meeting with a fellow photographer without an exposed frame from The Impossible Project.
