Throw a cup of hot water into the air when the temperature is minus 14 and you get instant snow! The cloud lingered for about 10 seconds afterwards as my neighbors wondered what I was doing.
Took a few photos with a Polaroid camera with film that expired in 2006. I think it gives the look of photos we took mere hours ago the look of having been taken in 1972.

Instant Places: Canada CODE
Instant Places : CODE Canada
Ian Birse and / et Laura Kavanaugh
Instant Places: Canada CODE is an audio/video environment in which images, sounds, and texts are collected from a literal and figurative journey across Canada, and transformed in real time. Kavanaugh and Birse began the project in September 2009 in Makkovik Newfoundland and Labrador, gathering audiovisual material and creating the computer programming as they travelled by ferries, buses and trains across Canada to Vancouver. A computer program sorts and categorizes the rich multimedia material and categorizes it by colour, shape, theme and location. The visual field is large and immersive, suggesting the breadth of Canada. It is large enough that the viewer is not able to take in the whole screen, and must choose an area of interest to watch. Multiple audio speakers recreate real acoustic spaces recorded in four-channel surround sound, sonically taking the audience into communities across the country. With the constant shifts in both image and sound, Instant Places: Canada CODE attempts to communicate the diversity of Canada to an extraordinarily and distinctly varied audience.
