Shot across from an installation art mural in the Place des Arts hallway. Waited several minutes for this exact type of catwalk capture. Probably had a few wondering what I was doing standing in that hallway for that long.

The performance involved the artist moving in a slow, contemplative improvisation, while releasing colored inks from a water carrier ~ body sculpture, onto papers arranged on the floor in front of the audience present, and intimate, within a few feet of the mindful, concentrated attention, performative action.
It's sometimes difficult to know where contemporary art starts and where it ends... When I first photographed this installation, I wondered if this yellow lighting device was part of the installation or used merely as a lighting tool... LOL In any case, I thought the whole set was very photogenic!

Installation art
This temporary installation art, called "the third space", was built by 52 interior design students. It consists of almost 1.300.000 cable ties. The students worked on it for about 16.870 hours. Visitors can sit down in cocoon-like bird's nests, stand under a shower of light, and experience this 200 square meters small world, that tries to translate sociological terms like self-portrayal, community and retreat into tangible spatial situations.

This year I'm hoping it'll be less so we went diving to help promote shark conservation.

Each April in the Desert Rose Garden's little event building, is an event for creative installation art pieces with a floral theme.
This year the installations weren't as expressive as last year, so I incorporated the window with its light, shadow and geometry in my own interpretation.
Happy Window Wednesday!

We Could Have Been Anything That We Wanted to Be
– Ruth Ewan, 2011
"The title of the work is inspired by the movie Bugsie Malone which includes the song: we could have been anything we wanted to be. The next line of this song is; It’s not too late to change which emphasizes Ewan’s interest in past failures and also possible futures.
