Zwangsarbeiter haben die Stollen im Berg ausgebaut und vorrangetrieben - rund 600 von ihnen haben dies mit ihrem Leben bezahlt. Sie starben an Entkräftung, Hunger, Folter und Hinrichtungen. Das Prinzip der "Vernichtung durch Arbeit" wurde hier auf perfide Weise in die Tat umgesetzt.
