Bicolored Agapostemon Sweat Bee (Agapostemon viriscens)
Unlike other sweat bees, they are not attracted to human sweat. They are generally green or blue, especially the head and thorax. Sometimes the abdomen in females is green or blue, although it may be striped, and most males have the yellow-striped abdomen on a black or metallic background.

T-Visitor from Another DimensionThe night shift brings unusual encounters. This "T-moth" (Pterophoridae) landed on the window of my workspace, against a blue perforated background. It looks like a fragile needle or a futuristic aircraft rather than a living creature. Shot handheld with a Canon 77D and 100mm macro lens, while both of us, under the LED arms, looked like visitors from another planet. Nature is the best designer of abstraction.

Noćna smjena donosi neobične susrete. Na prozoru moje radne kućice, uz plavu perforiranu pozadinu, sletio je ovaj "T-moljac" (Pterophoridae). Izgleda kao krhka iglica ili futuristička letjelica, a ne živo biće. Snimljeno iz ruke s Canon 77D i 100mm makro objektivom, dok smo i ja i on, pod LED krakovima, izgledali kao posjetitelji s drugog planeta. Priroda je najbolji dizajner apstrakcije.

Perched dramatically on the thinnest little branch it could possibly find, this dragonfly appears to have discovered the perfect location from which to supervise the entire surrounding wilderness. With its wings elegantly displayed and those enormous eyes staring directly into the camera, there is a distinct impression that this tiny creature has absolutely no interest in explaining itself.
The soft green background creates a beautiful natural setting, allowing the dragonfly to stand out sharply against the surrounding foliage. Fine details in the translucent wings, segmented body, and delicate legs give the photograph a wonderful sense of texture and character. The shallow depth of field keeps the attention exactly where it belongs, on the tiny creature apparently convinced that it owns the place.
There is also something amusingly theatrical about the pose. The dragonfly looks less like it simply stopped to rest and more like it deliberately chose the branch, struck a pose, and waited for its portrait session to begin. One can almost imagine it thinking, “Yes, I know you’re taking my picture. Try to keep up.”
The photograph captures one of those wonderful moments in nature where wildlife photography becomes more than documentation. The subject develops a personality of its own, turning a simple encounter with a dragonfly into a tiny portrait of confidence, attitude, and perhaps just a little bit of superiority.
