I rescued this libel from my house...It flew inside and couldn't get out anymore...

 

This fly allowed me take his photo as he considered what he was going to do next. I like the cool pattern on his wings.

Ex pupae emerged 27 February 1988 . Hasselblad 500CM 150 Sonnar + 55mm tube F22 500th 2 Metz 402 flashes at 1.5 feet . Ectachrome 64 colour slide.

This moth was hanging out on my door when I came home late one night. I was shocked with how large it was. I have not personally seen a moth of this size before.

Some insect on a leaf

コガネムシって足上げてる子が多い。

なんでだろ。

...or ladybug, or ladybeetle. This one seemed to be spending a lot of time cleaning its mouth. I was trying to catch the moment of takeoff. Maybe next time...

I have found these chaps exceedingly difficult to photograph. I have shed loads of out of focus shots. However perseverance pays. In focus at last.

Morpho peleides, Benalmadena Butterfly Park, Spain

Just caught sight of this wasp flying up from some ground elder to a bush oak leaf with prey. By the time I got the camera on it, the head and abdomen had gone and it was trimming off the wings and legs before taking it back to the nest for the grubs to eat
