This is an Anise Swallowtail caterpillar feeding on Fennel flowers. It looks like it is going to eat another bud, but actually I disturbed it when I bent the flower around into better light and it reared up displaying its horns (osmeterium). They emit a foul odor (which I did not smell) and are a defense again parasitic wasps laying their eggs on its body.

when I first began shooting insects with a macro lens, I was surprised to see all the hairy details. Some bugs are so hairy it could almost be described as fur.

Excelente semana para todos!
During a spot of gardening this ladybird made an appearance climbing up to the top of a pile of dandelions, taking flight for a second, crashing, then repeating the process. It didn't seem to be flying well and was maybe getting it's skills back after hibernation.
Finally I found another interesting bug to photograph. Very martian looking I think. Between the rain showers and the wind, it was a challenge.
